Too BAD
I felt that it is more about taking money from you than the intention of providing good service.I went to his office for a primary appointment (the checkup that must be done every year) I wonder how I was doing and I made the mistake of telling him that more than a month ago I had a little shoulder pain but that I had been treated by another specialist from another medical center. It still hurt a little but no more (the doctor who treated my shoulder told me that it took a while for it to be totally fine) He just saw me he didn't give me the order for the medical tests (which in the end was the only thing I was for since he was not my regular doctor 'my primary doctor belonged to another medical center and that doctor is no longer her' so I looked for him on the internet) conclusion: I send a medical bill to my house of course following my shoulder when in reality he never saw me when I was really sick on my shoulder. He knew that I had been (passed) sick in my shoulder because I told him

Find another doctor
Do yourself a favor and find another doctor. He spent less than two minutes in the room with me. He sent 4 different medicines to the pharmacy for symptoms I don't even have, and found out that he double booked his appointments.

This is top of the worst Drs. Jose Lopez
I went to this dr. He is unprofessional and rude. He talks with attitude and doesn’t listen to you! I needed surgery. I had all my test done. I was in severe pain. He said he didn’t see anything wrong and that no dr will touch it. His staff is also rude! They act like they don’t know what they’re doing. I left that office and went to another dr. The new dr said yes you need surgery. I had the surgery with the new dr and finally pain free. I don’t know how dr Lopez even has a license. Don’t go here!

Lopez subscribed medication to be filled by pharmacist but was not given the correct refill instructions. Pharmacy sent it back two days ago and have not received correction. I have a horrible rash which I don’t have medication to treat it.

Great Doctor, needs staff training
I had gone to Dr Lopez for quite a few years and he really is a very good doctor. He does care about his patients and is actually very helpful with health concerns. The main problem that I had with him is in getting prescriptions refilled. He is a stickler for you coming into the office for a visit before he will refill them. Sometimes that can be a problem and he just won’t work with you. The office is VERY hard to get a hold of if you have any problems. Doesn’t ever answer the phone and you will be lucky if you get a call back if you leave a message. In saying that, if you are willing to always go into the office before getting a refill and you can put up with a mediocre staff at best, he is a really good doctor! Since I don’t live near the office anymore, I found it to inconvenient to have to deal with the refill problems.

Horrible Staff and no customer service.
Definitely, something is wrong with the staff at this place. None of the girls at the office want to do their job and when you step to the window they are all chatting from their desks. They never EVER answer the phones and god forbid you need a referral. The doctor and other providers are ok, but definitely, what's hurting this place is the staff. They are very disrespectful, do not know how to do their job, and feel offended when someone requests additional help. The billing people, BEWARE, they will charge your health Plan and also charge you via mail. This is completely out of line but since most of the clients are elderly, they don't even bother to look. No customer service, no education while present or on the phone, not versed in the medical field when it comes to billing, the staff is disrespectful towards elderly, and younger patients, STAFF IS ARROGANT, and is not accountable for their lack of preparedness.

Horrible Experience
My horrific experience with Dr. Lopez began in March of 2022. He turned out to be one of the worst doctors I've ever been to in my life. He is dismissive, unfriendly, zero personality, insensitive, arrogant, and uninterested and anything you have to say. The office staff (although mostly friendly) are incompetent in many ways but mostly with simple clerical tasks, communicating verbally in the English language and with getting messages across to the doctor in a timely manner. They rarely answer their phones as well. While traveling across the country I ran out of my meds earlier than expected. The recommended dosage was not sufficient so I had no choice but to double up. I notified the office/doctor several weeks beforehand via patient portal. The week before I ran out of my meds I mentioned it to the office staff several times via email and phone but never got a reply. I never got my meds. When I spoke with him, he said I was addicted and stopped treating me. Much more to the story.

Unprofessional
My daughter attempted to make appointment & was placed on hold for 40 mins. She called back, they actually hung up on her. I called myself & spoke to same receptionist & told her the experience, she put me on hold & sent me to VM. Daughter calls back & they blocked her #. We are Oakland residents & cannot believe the lack of professionalism.

0 stars. This dr should be reported. Very unprofessional very rude. Doesn’t listen to what you have to say. Gives you a blank referral that you can do nothing with. That 2 other drs have told me that I need to switch to a different dr because no one at this office knows what they are doing. Please don’t waste your time and find a better dr. Do not go to this office because you will get nothing but frustration and disappointment. At this point I’m honestly questioning if he has a license. Very disappointed

I feel I should alert people of my experience w/Dr. Lopez. I had to leave him for another doctor. When I was his patient, I didn’t feel that he was attentive to what I was trying to say and half of the time he didn’t really pay attention to my test results. My low B12 deficiency went unnoticed for over a year before he said anything about it. When I did a bone scan to determine osteoporosis (positive), he didn’t even bother to talk about the results w/me on our scheduled appointment….totally dismissed it; but the straw that broke the camel’s back was when I wanted to pick up a prescription a month before my appointment w/him and he refused to refill it unless I went to see him again a month before our scheduled appointment….it was only a cholesterol meds. He literally held my medication hostage so he could get paid again. A physical which he will insist on often will consist only of checking your eyes, ears, nose and throat…something that he will charge for unnecessarily…he loves $$$

Dr Lopez was not even interested in discussing my reasons for scheduling an appointment and, instead, focused on a previously diagnosed condition that was being aggravated by the actual, unrelated reasons an appointment was scheduled. When I said that it felt like he was disinterested in discussing my actual concerns, he said that I could just go. I was looking for a referral to an ophthalmologist for an eye concern and a GI doc for digestive issues. Dr. Lopez provided neither, and refused to even discuss the related concerns as legitimate. I've never had a less acceptable experience with a physician. Avoid at all costs.

I went for yearly physical exam. The worst practicing doctor office I ever have. The staff were disrespectful. He did not care, did not check EKG. Only order blood test and other test so he can make next 2 week appointment so I can continuous going back. When I called back asking for the code of the test for my insurance approval, no body call me back for 2 days. When I call only get The answering service and she/he doesn’t pass messages or medical staff ignores them. They never return my call. Ever. I got so mad, cancel my appointment and stop seeing him. I called my insurance, they asked what was the reason when I call for appointment? yearly physical exam, insurance said tell your dr. to change the code. I called the answering service , as always, never return my call. My united health insurance cover in full yearly physicals exam with no co-pay. I will not pay him $20.00 . WORSE DOCTOR, WORSE OFFICE, DISRESPECTFUL, NO RELATIONSHIP TO CARE FOR PATIENT.

This doctor is curt, non engaged and makes no eye contact. He is quick to use the hospital referral so he doesn’t have to evaluate. Spanish speaking patients are warmly engaged. The receptionist apparently doesn’t pass messages or medical staff ignores them. Using an office with one provider leaves you often frustrated, medication renewals ignored. No phlebotomist in the office as well.
