Extremely CARING, PROFESSIONAL doctor
My 90-year-old dad who lived in the nursing home for over Sixteen-years was hospitalized for a severe condition. During his hospital stay, he suffered seizures. Dad was misdiagnosed by his nursing home doctor. Dr. Matus treated my dad for the seizures and he did not suffer another seizure after that. Dr. Matus was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and caring. He sat down and explained everything to me and did not make me feel that he was in a rush. He displayed so much compassion. I would recommend Dr. Matus to all my family members and friends. May God Bless you sir and keep you.

Went to the TMC hospital a couple weeks ago in an ambulance. Dr. Matus sent me for a ctscan and noticed I had a stroke. He is very professional and wasn't in a hurry. I didn't know that he didn't have an office until today so I won't be able to see him for a follow up visit.

Saw Dr Matus at Lewisville Hospital. He was kind, seemed to truly care and he wasn’t in a hurry taking the time to check my elderly friend. Much appreciated!

Dr. Matus will be greatly missed at his clinic.
Dr. Matus stopped my Restless Leg Syndrome on my first visit to his clinic. Noone has ever stopped it in the fifty years I have suffered with the Syndrome. He will be greatly missed at his clinic, he cannot be replaced.

Was a great doctor.
This is more towards his staff/group than Dr Matus. When I was able to see him he was great. After never receiving a call on the appointment date I was switched to another doctor abruptly. In the middle of covid despite having been going to Dr Matus by phone and appointment for years was told I needed to come in physically. Mind you I have immune system and mega lung problems. then they proceeded to drop me because I was too nervous and rescheduled 2 times. Mind you I'm also agoraphobic and have muscle/mobility issues, neuropathy, narcolepsy and a lot of others. I have now been without meds for over a year because they refuse to take an appointment from me and are the only neurologists for miles .

Awesome doctor awful dtaff
Dr Matus would be better off totally replacing all office staff. All are extremely rude and unprofessional. They do not relay messages to the doctor or answer any questions. Also if you have any balance at all on your account they will not schedule appointments even if you dispute the charges as not being yours. I was charged for a procedure that I never had done and was not even scheduled for but they won’t remove the charges. The billing department and front office staff need to be replaced with professionals that match the greatness of Dr Matus.

Amazingly personable
Matus is a rare gem in today’s medical field. He has been the most understanding and caring doctor I have seen to date. He listens and respects patient’s perspective then provides a plausible solution based on your feedback. He will go the extra mile for you.

Dr. Matus is great but not his office staff
Saw Dr. Matus at the hospital twice after suddenly having seizures. Very kind and personable. However my follow ups with his office staff were a let down. They never adjusted my medication and when I left messages for them to call me concerning it my calls were never returned. I was told at the hospital that my second onset of seizures was likely due to my medication dosage not being high enough. Would love to have been able to talk to them about it but feel forced to locate a provider that has the staff to provide care and attention to the patients.

Poor receptionist customer service
11/29/2022 Arrived at office 10:00am. Receptionist did not acknowledge me for a full 5 minutes as I stood at her window waiting to check in. Discovered the doctor was not in. We had not received any notice on our listed phone numbers. Receptionist said computer showed they had called and line was busy. Did not receive an apology or any words that would indicate they were sorry. Very poor customer service.

I have been a patient of Dr. Matus for several years. I owe my life and quality of life to him and his expertise. He has taken me through cancer, MS, trying to figure out work and life balance, and continuing to be able to function and enjoy my life as much as possible. Dr. Matus listens and really cares. He spends quality time with me every single visit, and when he calls me on the phone. He has never once made me feel that he is too busy for me or my health. I love him like family and I'm so blessed that he is my doctor.

He is honest and listens intently. I was so happy to find a good doctor like him and who didn’t want to just prescribe pain killers for my back. Instead of passive drugs, he finds solutions.

Dr Matus ranks up there with the best of doctors, as a doctor should be - - caring, kind, curious, good listener. He discovered an unusual neurological condition in my daughter which the other "big guys" could not figure out, and had rudely dismissed. The office staff is not helpful, but this doctor is a rare jewel.

I love him as a doctor. He patient with you. He allow to talk to him. And he never act like he is on a the clock. This is the best doctor ever. My only complaint is scheduling. I have several no shows when I made all my appointments. And have showed proff of it because must sign a paper showing I was there. And they still refuse to remove the no show fee. Other than that it’s a great place.

Dr Matus spends time with us. He doesn't rush, rather, listens to our needs and concerns, and then clearly explains his diagnosis. He draws a picture so we get a better understanding of it. He is comical and friendly. He gets to know YOU! You'll spend a bit more time in the waiting room, but how can you get upset knowing that it's because he's spending time with others the way he spends time with you. If you're looking for a good neurologist, well you just found a GREAT one!
