Caring Dr. With great bedside manner.
I first met dr Melo when I was in the hospital last year for a bilateral pulmonary embolism. He was kind & explained my symptoms thoroughly. Dr. Ghitis is my cardiologist & I feel he saved my life. Together I trust them completely. I first met another hemotologist before Dr Melo but fought to have him as my Dr after meeting him.

Staff is so important. Dr. Melo had a Staff member covering for his assistant. That is why I had difficulty, Dr, Melo personally called me and set up my treatments and was apologetic. He is caring and most proficient

Great Attention from Dr. Melo, His through explanation about my exam and the action plan and further exams to be perform was outstanding. I found my self very fortunate for the presence of an another doctor on training during my consultation. Preparing the next generations!! As soon Dr. Melo had my results from exams. He call me, personally and give me the results and answer all my questions. I fully recommend him . He's fully committed with his patients.

Dr. Melo has a terrible bedside manner. He lacks the ability to connect with his patients during the most challenging time in their lives. Cancer requires treating both the disease AND the fears of one’s patient. If you don’t ask a specific question, Dr. Melo won’t reveal important information. He does NOT empower the people he treats. I went home bereft of hope, and confused about the nature of the treatment and cancer. Moreover, the student intern is a huge distraction and arrogant. Patients should be asked whether a student doctor can be present in their appointment—especially when seeing a doctor for the first time. Building trust is critical, and that can’t be accomplished when one feels like a mere guinea pig. Teaching a student isn’t more important than making a patient comfortable. I do NOT recommend this doctor.

Have been a patient of this practice since 2012. However, after being recently discharged from the hospital, the office staff has me concerned. This week I saw front desk staff being rude and quick with patients. Then they left the window open as they spoke to someone on the phone needing directions. When they hung they made fun of the conversation. After my visit I called not once but twice to speak to a nurse about a script I needed and as of yet (3 days) have not received a call back.
