Patient
Dr. Gunn’s macular hole repair surgery on my left eye was successful but one month later my retina detached and I required a second surgery. Dr. Cristoforo ( Dr. Gunn’s partner), did the surgery. Dr. Cristoforo caused me a lot of pain during the detached retina surgery. After which I had to keep silicone oil in my eye for nine and a half months. When Dr. Gunn removed the oil he stuck a needle or something in my eye while I was still awake. I had to ask for more anesthesia. It was incredibly painful and I received no apologies - just laughter from Dr. Gunn and his nurse. After sitting in a cold dark room today waiting for Dr. Gunn to do a checkup on my eye. I walked out after two hours of no service and the big party all of them ( including, Dr. Gunn), were having right outside my door in the nurses station. My wife and I were hugely disappointed with Dr. Gunn and Dr. Cristoforo and their office. Never going back there.

Dr. Gunn gets it. Great personality, you know where you stand immediately and what next steps look like. Attention doctors if you want a masterclass in watching a doctor bring medical knowledge that is heard by patients and therefore delivered in a way we can understand, watch this guy. He is knowledgeable, sensitive, informative… I immediately felt at ease and confident in my receiving expert medical care regarding my vision. Staff was great, too. Walked away, very impressed with my overall experience. HIGHLY recommend for anyone with retina problems.

Great physician! Wonderful experience with Southeastern Retina. Dr. Gunn was a wonderful surgeon, and the staff were always helpful and kind. They ensured I had a smooth prep, treatment, and follow-up. I've seen many specialist over the years but no one has ever address my concerns like he did. I didn't leave the office with any doubts about my treatment options and diagnosis. I am so glad I chose Dr. Gunn and would highly recommend him to anyone.
