I have no negatives on my long term doctor, but wanted a 2nd opinion (confirmation I am doing the right thing/or not, because nobody wants surgery if they have other options, & it’s scary) on a spinal fusion I was told was very necessary. I had never met Doctor Jamaris prior and knew nothing about him. He was very efficient, through, & the low wait time was a bonus. Doctor Jamaris was super patient while listening to my full history, prior effort, and concerns in relation to my issues. He took in every angel so as he could properly guide me on his medical advice. I was very impressed that he already had my scans open and ready in my file upon first meeting! He did research prior to seeing me rather then seeing me for an initial consult & then looking into everything thereafter. Thank you for that, so I didn’t have to come back for a 2nd time only to have the appointment I wanted the first time, which btw doesn’t seem to be uncommon practice. Doctor Jamaris didn’t disappoint!

Absolutely love Dr Jamaris! He preformed my cervical fusion in 2009 and was amazing. Very straightforward and willing to answer any questions you have. On the day of surgery I couldn’t have asked for better care. He followed up with me himself days, weeks and even years after to make sure that everything was going well. I live in NC but no matter what I will always travel for Dr. Jamaris.

Dr. Jamaris did an outstanding job. After other doctors tried and failed to identify and correct the problem - requiring an investment of thousands of dollars (after insurance) by me for tests - Dr. Jamaris ordered two conventional tests which clearly displayed the problem. His recommended approach for solving the problem reflected the results of the two tests he ordered. Recovery from surgery was unbelievably fast, and the outcome of the surgical skill he applied was full functionality/no pain.

A very competent neurosurgeon, but one that prefers to treat with physical therapy and medications rather than surgery. I have back and neck issues (lots of nerves along the spinal column - ignore my advice if you have a brain problem). Very little wait time for an appointment or in his office waiting to be seen. Others have complained about his "bedside" manner. Not my experience. He's willing to answer questions you have, and more than willing to question you ensure he understands you.

I had anterior cervical decompression and fusion surgery on 3/2/16. I am so glad that Dr Jamaris performed my surgery. He took his time listening to my concerns, answering my questions and making me feel comfortable prior to having this surgery, the day of the surgery and now during my recovery. He called me on the weekend to check on me and he returns my calls the same day. If you want a professional and great caring doctor, then please see Dr. Jamaris.

I was very apprehensive going to a neurosurgeon. Finally after 20 something years living in pain I meet a Doctor that set my mind at ease!! Doctor Jamaris is very professional and want to make sure you completely understand what he has communicated. He performed my neck surgery, three levels and removed bone spurs that had entered my spinal cord. I'm a year out from my neck surgery and have never felt better.. My family also holds Doctor Jamaris in high regard. I completely trust him!!

The reason I went to Dr jamaris was it from a reference of a friend who said he was one of the best. Well I took the recommendation and couldn't have been more pleased over 30 years of experience and you can tell it from the moment you start to talk to him. No doubt he is probably one of the most experienced surgeon and effective in the field of of spinal surgery. PS after 44 years of sports officiating thought career might be over after the surgery I can see the future is back again.

About Me

care philosophy

The vast majority of my patients end up markedly improved without needing to succumb to surgery. And, if surgery is needed, I would certainly opt for the least invasive, rather than accept the modern trend of more involved, which only increases risk without raising the rate of successful outcomes.
