Used to be great, Just a number here now
I'm sharing because I think Primary Care Providers for the elderly should be more gentle than regular practices. This practice has lost their human touch. They used to be compassionate but they don't care as much anymore. My grandmother was a patient for over 20 years, probably longer. But when she was in her final days, Dr. Springle didn't even want to talk to me or her. Really just so disappointed after so long as a patient.

He doesn't order tests and didn't help us when we needed him. My husband almost died and this Doctor didn't lift a finger to find out what was wrong with him. He needed antibiotics and iron according to his blood tests, he wouldn't prescribe either. After going to the hospital, he was diagnosed and they were given to him. He's fine as long as you're healthy, but run to another doctor when you actually need help!

He is a good listener and assesses issues well, covering bases of problems shared. He understands a patients' limits of reality, regarding what they actually can do or are willing to do to change for improvement. He does Not consider himself a god.

This quack almost killed my father by misdiagnosing him some years back. My father had to have lung surgery to drain the fluid from his lungs when Dr. Springle sent my father home with a Z-Pac without even listening to him with a stethoscope. Not to mention Dr. Springle told my father he was fine except maybe the beginning of bronchitis when it turns out my dad was already in the later stages of pneumonia.

During a stressful time, the staff showed little interest in my concerns & made things harder for me to get the info that I needed. Their online portal was confusing & it took a lot of extra effort on my part (& hours spent on hold or repeating myself) for about a week to get the info I needed. All the while I felt like the staff got more & more annoyed with me because I had to keep calling. Its as if they didn't realize I had to keep calling them to get things straightened out- STRESSFUL!!

I have been a patient for 25 years. He took over the practice of my former primary care doctor , who was a woman. I always had women doctors and was hesitant about seeing a male doctor. He immediately put me at ease. As a matter of fact we moved 10 years ago from St. Petersburg to Citrus County, 82 miles away and still return to his office for care. If you want a caring and considerate doctor that you can talk to Dr. Springle is your man!

We've lived in a lot of cities so have had experience with a number of primary care physicians. Dr Springle is one of the best we've had. He listens, he spends time, he answers questions patiently, and you absolutely sense his capability. We've looked hard around St Pete and have finally found The One!
