Dr. Joseph Stefanski, MD

Seemed nice at first, but was forgetful and didn’t seem concerned with my pain. I went in with serious pain from kidney stones. He had to be reminded twice to get me medication for pain which he did apologize for. He just gave me the hospital version of ibuprofen because he suspected I passed the stone already or else I would be in more pain….however it still hurt to walk, sit, lay, bend, etc. I could not get comfortable. The medication did absolutely nothing for the significant pain I was still in. It took so long to even get the medication, that I was discharged about a half hour after I received it. Was not sent home with any medication for the pain—told to take ibuprofen and acetaminophen despite the hospital version of ibuprofen not working. The AHN Brentwood facility is amazing otherwise. The receptionist, nurses, PA, radiology dept., were all very kind, helpful, and incredibly efficient. I would definitely go back, but hope for a different doctor.

Best MD ever. Saw 3 doctors and Dr. Joe listened to me, explained what was happening and relieved my pain that existed for 3 months prior.

My wife had a back surgery for two ruptured discs years ago and deals with major back issues and pain on a daily basis. She was also told years ago that there was a tear on a third disc and to keep an eye on it. We recently went to AHN Brentwood Neighborhood Hospital Emergency for she was having excruciating back pain and muscle spasms for almost a week. Dr. Joseph Stefanski came into the room with a chip on his shoulder. My wife explained her back history and what was going on now. He dismissed her by rolling his eyes and telling her that aspirin and moving around fixes a lot of back problems. The next thing he wanted to do is verify that there was a scar on her lower back, then he became animated explaining that if she herniated a disc she would not be able to walk, to which she said she walked with the two that she previously had and he rolled his eyes again. Complete and utter disregard for her feelings and medical condition. It's a shame that he has no compassion as an MD.
