Dr. Joshua Zimmerman, MD

Dr Zimmerman provided professional, compassionate and thorough care from diagnosis thru surgical experience. He provided clear education and directions which left me confident in care received. He personally followed up and his staff was professional, courteous and organized. I highly recommend this surgeon and would choose him again.

I have been going to Dr. Zimmerman for about 15 years now. He took care of my torn labrum successfully back in 2011 and in the last year or so I’ve been going back due to shoulder arthritis. He always takes his time me and listens to what I have to say. I NEVER feel rushed. Once I am done describing my pain, he gives me options for what we can try that day and what we may have to do down the road. I know I am going to need a shoulder replacement at some point, but Dr. Zimmerman does not rush you into surgery. He says and I quote “ let’s kick the can down the road as long as we can” :) which makes you feel that he’s not in it for the money but that he truly cares about his patients and how they feel. I have gone to this practice to see his partners as well for other issues. Dr. Marcus did my carpal tunnel surgery and I will be going to Dr. Stroh In the near future for a leg injury.His entire team is caring, thoughtful, and very professional. I highly recommend the whole group!

I saw Dr. Joshua Zimmerman M.D. at their Old Bridge office. Easy to get an appointment, receptionist was pleasant, X-Ray technician was vey caring for your pain as she was taking X-Rays. Dr Zimmerman listened to my problem explanation, was very caring, explained my issues in a way I could understand, gave me specific instruction for my after-appointment care. I would most certainly recommend Dr Zimmerman to family and friends.

Dr Zimmerman came highly recommended. From the initial appointment to the shoulder surgery post-op follow up, everything went great. The staff is excellent. Everyone is friendly and professional. Communication and explanations were timely and helpful. But the real reason to pick the right surgeon is the results! Happy that recovery was faster and easier than expected. No more pain and can’t believe the flexibility. In fact it was so good I just had my other shoulder done! ( re-read this if you want to know the results of the second surgery). Thanks!!

The waiting room is neat and clean. The Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, professional and understanding. Not a long wait time to see Dr. Zimmerman. Dr. Zimmerman listened to how my fall happened, what hurts, how long it hurt and then examined me thoroughly. He had X-Rays taken, reviewed my X-Rays, explained my X-Rays to me then explained my options and my next follow up appointment. Dr. Zimmerman did not rush my visit, listened to me, explained what could be my issues, explained my X-Rays, then explained my options and my next follow up appointment.

Dr Zimmerman is a great doctor. The office staff at the front desk are another story, not friendly, sometimes rude. No hello or good morning, or how are you when you sign in. Also while in the waiting room, the staff talk gossip about internal issues and talk about the patients. It's not very professional behavior. Also the glass windows should be closed so everyone in the waiting area can't hear the phone call discussions when other patients call.

Dr. Zimmerman is a positively SUPERB Dr. and a FANTASTIC LISTENER! He took ample time to review my medical history, the history of my current pain and proceeded with care and expeditious diagnostics. He's compassionate, thorough and a PHENOMENAL SURGEON! His staff are unparalleled as well. I had an extremely positive experience with literally everyone I interacted with from his office. EG: Terry, Linda, Yani and his Radiologist who's name unfortunately escapes me at the moment. I had started back to the gym 6-weeks earlier (thanks to the improving COVID protocols) and felt that I needed treatment for the osteoarthritis in my left shoulder, almost one-year to the date after my initial treatment. I started to feel relief by the following day!

I liked that Dr. Zimmerman gave me options and didn’t jump to aggressive treatment. Very straightforward, which I totally appreciate.

Great visit! Dr. Zimmerman listened and thoroughly explained what my issue was. Showed me what he saw in the xray vs what a correct alignment should look like and pointed out the issue. Dr. Zimmerman also operated on my shoulder years ago and I have never had an issue with the shoulder since. Great Dr. with great work ethic. Not to mention his great staff all around 5 stars.

This was my 4th visit to Dr. Zimmerman. I just had a second MRI of my shoulder tear. Although it had nearly doubled in size over 2 years he did not push surgery but cautioned about how long I have before it is no longer fixable. He always explains everything very clearly and the visit never feels rushed. I’m planning to schedule surgery with him soon.
