Dr. Josiah Duke, MD

Dr. Duke helped address my back problems in a reassuring manner. I have a back problem that goes back many years, and I've relied in times like this on the help of well informed orthopedic doctors, like Dr. Duke. He knew my other providers, had the most recent information, like a MRI, and all this was appreciated as my back has been in a terrible way for nearly a month. His staff also was enormously helpful and I left feel assured about a quality of care from this orthopedic group in Greenville, NC I look forward to a followup visit and a discussion of the status of my spinal conditions.

Dr Duke is very thorough with surgical procedures and post op plans & recovery. I never feel rushed during consultations. They used to call it good bedside manner. I call it making this patient feel valued. No question is a dumb question, and I feel comfortable with my knowledge and the process. That is important to patients who are worried and anxious about surgical procedures and rehabilitation.

Id like to express my dissatisfaction with my recent visit to Orthopedics East. After waiting over an hour, Dr. Duke performed a brief exam, recorded his notes, and left without explaining next steps or treatment. I had to ask the medical assistant for clarification. Dr. Duke then discussed my private medical concerns in the waiting room, which was inappropriate. His remarks about my skin abrasions were judgmental, yet he advised me to continue the same care. The visit ended with no clear instructions, leaving me feeling dismissed and emotionally distressed. I left in tears and had a panic attack in my car.This was my first and last visit to Dr. Duke. I will be filing a complaint with both Orthopedics East and the medical board regarding the lack of professionalism and the inappropriate handling of my care.

Friendly & efficient front desk, short wait to examining room. Dr. Duke is always on target, appreciate his knowledge & cari g spirit.

Dr. Duke has been my doctor on several occasions. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He explains things in a way I can understand. I hope he will continue to be my doctor as work through my current problems

Dr. Duke was kind & caring. When you have been in pain for a long period; it means a lot to have your doctor to be kind and caring to you first. Also, he was very informative in showing and explaining my X-Ray, MRI and helping me understand the procedure.
