Dr. Josue Becerra, MD

The first few years I saw Dr. Becerra, he was great! He seemed to value me and wanted to help. When a med wasn't working, he switched me to something new, no issue.I have CPTSD, have been diagnosed for over 12 years now. Without too much detail, I was in the foster care system at a young age due to extreme abuse. I have zero contact with bio family, and protection orders against some; all this to say, there is a legal paper trail confirming that at very least, something happened to me.When I came out to him as trans, intending to have it marked on my file for future ref if and when I decided to medically transition, he became upset. He flat out told me I had never experienced any trauma, I had faked it all, and tried to rediagnose me as autistic instead for... whatever reason. I was expected to apologize to him or never be allowed in his office again. I left and never returned. To this day I struggle to trust psych doctors because of this man. Please, seek other options.

Rude, inconsiderate and flat our disgusting to patients. Denied me medication due to I might become pregnant. ADHD has nothing to do with that and I'm not sexually active. What a joke.

He does not listen to patients or ask about background and will not trust you. He is terrible to try and work with. Also he is not understanding and extremely dismissive.

If you want to leave your appointment feeling a million times worse than when you went in, then by all means this is the doctor for you. He doesn't listen, judges you for answers, makes you feel uncomfortable and will leave you feeling like you should've pretty much done his job ahead of time for him by researching different prescriptions to pick which one you'd like, even if you have LITERALLY NO IDEA. Cannot express how much I don't recommend him AT ALL. I was out of my prescriptions and would've walked out 10 minutes into the appointment if I knew I could've quickly gotten in elsewhere.

I have been going to Rivertown for about 3 to 4 years and the entire time, Dr. Becerra has been my doctor. He is welcoming, kind, always has a smile on his face and seems genuinely happy that you are there ( in a good way). I know that he honestly cares for his patients. He is encouraging when I need it most. I hope to always continue to have him as my physician. The whole staff is great. 5 stars ?? ?? ?? ?? ??

Absolutely! He is the only one that checks all my medications, listens to all my problems and is so concerned of all my problems. I would definitely tell all my friends and family about Dr. Becerra and would strongly recommend him to anyone. Everybody in this facility is so nice and so easy to work with on making appointments. Always have good visits and feel so good when I leave after seeing Dr. Becrra. He is a wonderful, caring doctor who always takes time to listen and gives good advice.

Very interested in progress; listens well and is very interested.

Pill machine no help once he locks you into a medication routine.

I cant thank Dr. Becerra and his staff enough, they have provided me with excellent service and are drastically improving my quality of life. As a Combat Veteran you do not find a doctor that actually listens and caters to the patient....Thanks so much

DR. BECERRA IS OUTSTANDING! I WAS VERY PLEASED THAT HE INVOLVED FAMILY IN THE CARE HIS PATIENTS. HIS BEDSIDE MANNER IS EXCEPTIONAL! YOU DO NOT FEEL RUSHED DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT. I FEEL DR. BECERRA IS JUST AS MUCH CONCERNED FOR MY SON AS I AM.
