Dr. Joy McFarland, MD

I’ve been a patient of Dr McFarland for years. She is highly competent and does not leave things to chance. She is not afraid to admit when she’s unsure about something and does not overprescribe. She and her staff always follow up quickly and in a friendly manner. I know others that go to her, and all agree that she is a really caring and good doctor. Normally I don’t write up experiences, but my good doctor and staff deserve a much higher rating; not just in my opinion, but in the opinion of many others I know.

Very very knowledgeable

Do not go this Practice! I’ve never left a review (much less a bad one) but feel compelled! Dr. McFarland is my husbands mothers doctor. And to say the least - is neglectful. My MIL is 87 yrs old and we have been trying so hard for a couple of months now to get Dr. McFarland to sign off that she should not be left at home as she has terrible health issues and memory issues. This ofc doesn’t return calls or help family members with elderly people even when you have an”Elder Attorney” involved - who says he has never experienced a doctors ofc like this. To make matters worse (if possible) my FIL who is 92 also has his doctor in this practice and his doctor won’t give us a recommendation letter to have him (at the very least) retested at the DMV. He says we need to send him to a Forensic Psychologist!

We have been going to Dr McFarland for about three years and she has always been very caring and helpful. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a good Doctor. She has even called my home when I was real sick to see if I was feeling better.

Competent, but not a great bedside manor.

Dr McFarland always takes her time with me, asking me questions, answering mine, I never feel rushed and I do feel she is interested in providing quality care

If you want a doctor that rushes you in and out, doesn't listen to what your issues are and criticizes you for everything you do, then she is definitely the doctor for you!

Every time that I am there, she rushes me through, complains about how busy she is, and is generally very uncaring. One time she scolded me for being there on time and not being early!
