Dr. Pere should lose her medical license
As someone who now works in healthcare, Dr. Pere is the most unethical and careless provider I have ever met. When I first started seeing her, I was underage and my parents had only picked her because she had been recommended by my pediatrician. Dr. Pere diagnosed me with several disorders after only one session, and within months had me on over five different medications (at the same time) with prescriptions that went far past the recommended doses for adults, let alone children. She would violate confidentiality by talking about her clients (names and identifying information provided), would reschedule sessions after I had showed up, cut sessions short, or get upset and yell during therapy. Her advice was also unhelpful and consisted of telling me to just “calm down” or “she would up my meds.” My parents switched me after I was hospitalized due to a medication issue, and my new psychiatrist was horrified by both her conduct and what she had prescribed. She should lose her license.

Dr. Pere is a terrible person and hardly qualified as a doctor. I had no say in the medications she was prescribing. She had me on 800mg of seroquel for insomnia. I later found out the drug is more sedating at lower doses. She had me on a dose of gabapentin for back pain and sleep which was again far higher than the recommended maximum dose. My current doctor is horrified by my medication records thanks to Dr. Pere. Dr. Pere even went as far as to violate my privacy rights numerous times. I will be filing a complaint. Dr. Pere would often hang up on me mid-conversation. Extremely rude; did not listen to anything I had to say. She was somewhat helpful in getting money out of my parents, who were forcing me to see her at the time, but other than that, this doctor is awful. Run don’t walk away from this doctor.

Run away from this awful person – Jul 03, 2021

I would never recommend this psychiatrist to any patient. Dr. Pere is rude, cold, uncaring, and an over prescriber of medications. I got nowhere after seeing her for quite a awhile because her follow-up was non-existent. She gave too many medications which interacted with each other, too. My primary care physician was shocked at the combos she prescribed to me. Read other reviews and find a better qualified doctor with compassion.

Dr. Pere paid no attention to me or my problems. She was completely distracted. She provided no insights to my conditions. She was completely unsympathetic and rude. Dr. Pere did not show any expertise regarding psychiatric medication. She would prescribe anything and see if it worked. (Might as well get prescribed online...) She was abrupt with me even though she was late for the appointment. She should not be in a healing profession. I should have filed malpractice because a psychiatrist shoul

I wish there was an option for me to leave no stars, but unfortunately I have to be generous and give her one star. From the get-go I was very on the edge about Dr. Pere and her quality of services. She didn't hesitate to change appointment times at last minute notice, much to my frustration. The final straw was when I booked an earlier (more expensive) flight home from a vacation because she made it seem important that I see her which she then rescheduled last minute (16hrs prior) w/ no apology

Run away as fast as you can from Dr. Joyce Pere. At my first appointment, Dr. Pere signed prescription renewal authorizations as I described my symptoms until I asked her not to. (I thought she was taking notes). She prescribed meds after a superficial evaluation - my self-reporting of symptoms. At my second visit, she asked me if the medication was working. I started saying It's more complicated than that... and she said Yes or no, did it work? Unprofessional, impolite, uncaring, awful.
