NEW PATIENTS BEWARE!!
It’s very sad when potentially good doctors hire impolite staff and subscribe to unreasonable office policies. I suppose one can’t be good at everything. It doesn’t matter if you’re the most brilliant doctor in the world, if you don’t have any patients. I don’t who answers the calls for the practice, but whoever she is, can best be described as “If IDGAF was a person.” If you’re looking for a new doctor, this isn’t the one so keep looking. IMHO

Awful service
1st issue: called to schedule colonoscopy-received prep pkt but no callback for procedure appt. Called office and was informed procedure was next day. Showed up and office was surprised to see me. Saw different doc for procedure. Never recd call about results. Called office and told large polyps removed. 2nd issue-ongoing. Try to call the office/. Answering machine always on even during business hours. Called and left 2 messages Still Not received a callback and took self to E R. All I needed was a scan for diverticulitis and antibiotics. What is the cost for theER vs office visit. Terrible practice!

I would give zero stars if possible. I was never seen by a doctor. I had a phone consult with someone, it was rushed and obviously on speaker phone as I could hear everything going on around the caller. My main concern is a hernia that is affecting my lifestyle. I was sent in for an EDG, for which I was seen 4.5 HOURS after my appointment time. Dr. Ukabam wasn’t even sure why I wa at here until I explained it all. After the procedure I was given a prescription for GERD medication and the whole purpose of my visit was not even discussed. I would never recommend this doctor or anyone associated with her practice.

I’ve began seeing Dr. Theard, who is associated with San Antonio Gastroenterologists in April 2020. I was recommended to her by my cardiologist because of her experience. I will note that all my interactions with the office took place during the COVID19 stay at home order. Thus, some of the visit and interactions were video. I did make a couple of visits to the office, where the COVID19 protocols were followed prior to seeing anyone. While this process is new and was a little unusual at the time, I found most medical offices all following the same protocols. Additionally, whether my interaction occurred via the phone or in person the front desk staff, nurses, and doctor were professional, timely, and service minded individuals that had the patients’ best interests in mind. I would definitely recommend this group, and Dr. Theard, to any patient looking for a good Gastroenterologist to handle their health needs. It is very easy to give Dr. Theard, and her group high marks.

This place treated my son like a drug addict going through withdrawals bc they “can’t find anything” luckily a Dr (not from here)finally found exactly what it is..diagnosed with Superior Mesenteric artery Syndrome, which is a blockage that doesn’t allow food, water, pills therefore you look anorexic and causes severe abdominal pain that can’t be controlled with meds (and he knows this, therefore never asked for meds). She needs to go back to school do research on SMAS and write a published paper

I also want to mention/commend ms corine, NP for her diligence in helping me in the absence of dr theard, when i could not get an appt with doc theard right away...she is very thorough/knowledgeable. She listens and respects the patien’s input. She does the research/collaborates with doc theard. Even though we still don’t have all the answers to what is ailing me, my mind is more at ease because of the teamwork. Ms monique is sharp/goes the extra mile to asst when problems arise. Top notch.

Doctor Theard is a HORRIBLE doctor! My mother went to see her for stomach pain and this doctor told her that the symptoms she felt were "all in her mind" and she would just have to "live with it". After being hospitalized with severe anemia (had to have 3 transfusions) we found that, in fact, my mother had a bleeding ulcer in her stomach and this doctor either ignored or was too ignorant to recognize it. Dr. Theard is a TERRIBLE DOCTOR!!

I first met Dr. Theard 8 months ago for a way overdue colonoscopy. Long story short, she was able to remove an extremely large polyp in a very complex procedure. Her patience, understanding, and knowledge has been so reassuring from our first visit. Most of all, she surrounds herself with an impeccable staff. What a relief to return for my followup scope and be able to see all familiar faces before lights-out. "No growth" is music to my ears!

I went to Dr Theard because a friend referred me. I had to see the PA first to get in. I've been dealing with this GI problem for over a year. The PA aid I had gastroparesis OK gave me some meds I had a reaction to it. The PA said I should see the Dr Theard because I told her my PCP said not to take this med. I saw Dr Thread and she asked me what's wrong I tried to tell her and cuts me off and says you have pancreatitis and went to get me some meds I told her no because I had a reaction to that
