Changed pulmonologists.
He scheduled a PET scan for me but because he didn't send any reasons for it, my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Now I'm waiting for the insurance review to proceed, a 30-45 day process. So I'm looking for a new pulmonologist.

Dr. Fernandez is a very friendly and personal physician who will suggest prophylactic examinations whenever necessary. He is very thorough and truly concerned about his patients. He does not rush patient visits, and spends all the time necessary to explain everything well and to answer patients' questions. I highly recommend this physician.

The receptionist greeted me right away. There was no waiting to sign in or have my temp taken. The entire staff was cognizant of the need to distance, wear protective masks, etc. I was taken to a room within 5 minutes where the staff was pleasant and efficient. Then 5 minutes later, Dr. Fernandez came in (wearing a mask). He was attentive, thorough, unhurried, kind. After having a PFT by a delightful man (who explained the procedure so well), Dr. Fernandez returned to discuss treatment. I so appreciated his respect, in including my thoughts on a treatment plan.

Dr. Fernandez really listens and is a very caring physician. He was able to diagnose my uncommon lung disease when even Mayo Clinic had missed it. Can't recommend him enough.
