Incredible surgeon
I saw Dr. Pifer for a fractured fibula. He was incredibly informative and his staff is really helpful. After my surgery I had next to zero pain and the fracture healed nicely. When he walks in the room, you have 100% of his attention and you're never left feeling like you're just another patient. 1,000,000% recommend

Ruined my nephews life
I have no clue WHY his office made the appointment for my nephew! He is NOT a hand specialist! They should have immediately said call another office. But I think most surgeons will gladly take your money and not refuse a patient coming to see them if they can! He gave him the advice to buddy tape his fingers and it healed with a malunion, maltrotation and hyper extension, causing him constant pain and discomfort in his wrist. He cant play his music anymore and he also can barely type on a keyboard and has trouble. Above all, this could've easily been fixed properly! I wish he had the moral conviction to say, hey, I'm not the best with hand surgery, you should probably see a hand specialist. I specialize in the foot and ankle. Atrocious office staff to even make the appointment.

Put me into a major depression
Dr. Judah made my life miserable. When I asked if he thinks if I should fix it he said he didn’t think I needed to. My hand had a fracture in the pinky finger and has now healed with a malunion, malrotation and hyper extension. I can barely play the guitar anymore and it used to be my passion and God given talent. It breaks my heart that Dr. Richardson could’ve easily did reduction and put a pin in my finger. Life would be a million times better. But here we are. Could’ve been an easy fix to align my finger. I’ve since seen about 5 other surgeons and every one of them said if I would’ve seen them first they would’ve fixed it. Now a year plus later I still want to get it fixed but I’m so scared because they’d have to cut me open. I wish he would’ve just fixed it. He sent me away with nothing. No splint. No cast. Overall he was a nice guy for sure. But if he didn’t feel competent doing it he should’ve had the guts to refer me to someone else. Granted I didn’t know how bad it was gonna be

Torn rotator cuff surgery
Referred to Dr. Pifer by my GP, I could not have asked for a better doctor. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Although this surgery is one of the hardest to get through, Dr. Pifer's expertise, direction, recommendations and advice along with his staff (all were wonderful) made the healing process effective, successful and as pleasant as possible. Definitely one of the best Orthopedic Surgeons in the Prescott area. I highly recommend him.

Excellent surgeon
He did my hip replacement surgery and my knee replacement surgery years after. I find him to be very experienced, very good at explaining things and really trustworthy. He really knows what he is doing and is good with people. I would recommend Dr Pifer to anyone needing replacements.

I am convinced that, by the grace of God, Dr. Pifer saved my life when sepsis traveled throughout my body, eventually landing in my right knee. He performed emergency surgery that was very successful, put me on antibiotics for life, and now 3 years later, I am indeed alive, walking, and thanks to his expertise, continuing to enjoy a fulfilling life.

I had a very confusing issue with my feet with symptoms that didn't fit in one simple category. After getting nowhere with another Dr, I saw Dr. Pifer. Dr. Pifer listened to my difficult to diagnose problems and came up with steps to figure out what was wrong with my feet. It took four visits and several diagnostic tests to rule out what it could and could not be. Each visit he took the time to answer my questions and explain what could be happening. He narrowed down my diagnosis to a problem that could possibly need surgery, but gave me lots of ideas and ways to try and avoid surgery. His opinion was to put surgery as a last option and try other ways to treat my problem first. It was easy to get appointments and his staff is great. I never waited more than 5-10 minutes to see him.

Dr. Pifer did surgery on my foot/Achilles heel and later on my shoulder. He was very professional and the anesthesiologist said we need more surgeons of his caliber in our town. He took a fair amount of time with me and calmed my fears. He offered suggestions about services and how to be more comfortable at home. Seems to be a very good doctor.

I saw Dr. Pifer, he ordered some testing, and determined my course of treatment. He was defensive when I questioned him after he completely forget what he told me at my first appointment. He turned to my husband and spoke to him instead of me. His office staff needs further training on referral procedures and were unprofessional and rude on the phone, telling me they are not obligated to follow through on referrals and were just doing it for me as a courtesy.

Nice prior to surgery after, little to no info, spiels are legalese & no real answers. Treatment in office is totally different if my husband is with me. Nicer, & he shakes husbands hand, not mine, Addresses husband when I am the patient. I injured my surgical foot, called at 9:00 am for X-ray, which they have digitally in house. He sent me to ER since they were closing at NOON & he was too busy to look at the x-ray (30 sec) to see if foot is broken.Yells at staff members in office halls. A Jerk.
