Always get a second opinion
At our visit Dr. Wolf told us that there was no reason to preform surgery on my mothers ovarian cancer because it had spread too far. She was short and to the point, which we wanted the truth but accuracy would have been appreciated. We went and got a second opinion from the University of Minnesota and Dr. Rivard told us “definitely I want to do surgery to give you (my mother) a chance at life. After surgery, it appears that the chemo did an amazing job at attacking the cancer and with surgery it appears all cancer has been removed! If we hadn’t gone for a second opinion. My mother would be waiting for fealty. Instead she has a chance to watch her grandkids grow!

This woman may be a brilliant researcher, but she was the rudest, most condescending, dismissive doctor I have ever encountered. I was a 27-year-old ovarian cancer patient at MD Anderson and very scared and confused. She basically laughed at me for wanting to explore getting a hysterectomy and told me that was “as dumb as cutting off leg for a stubbed toe.” She gave me the most intentionally rough pelvic exam I have ever had (I’m now in my 40s) and when my pap also returned results of a high-risk strain of HPV, she refused to have any contact with me when I called to ask what that meant. This woman is a truly awful human being who doesn’t care about patients’ “whole health”. I stopped going to MD Anderson because of her and warned every woman I knew who needed gynecological oncology to NEVER go to MD Anderson and never expose themselves to this doctor. I would rather die of cancer than ever be told I had to see her again…I’m any capacity.
