Caring, Detailed and 'Present'
After months of trying to get a Gastro appointment at Summa Health (with an actual doctor vs NP), an opening came up with Dr. Thornton and I grabbed it! She took the time to review info from my charts, listened (patiently) to a recap of my symptoms, health concerns (BRCA2, Barrett's Esophagus, other) and issues with the diagnostic process through Summa Healthy (and SummaCare, which is newer insurance for us - it's been a journey navigating that, to say the least). She sent notes to colleagues regarding testing I was seeking, shared info back from them in a timely way (got word from the nice office staff), and it set a much more positive process in motion. The NP for digestive health at Summa, Moira Forester, has been wildly helplful too. Thank you to Dr. Thornton and all.

I really appreciate Dr. Thornton and her "bedside manner" during this covid crisis. I have several conditions and she addresses them all. Her staff is patient with answering all of my questions. I don't know what I would do without her.
