Dr. Julio Bird IV, MD

After years of suffering in pain, mom was finally referred to Dr. Bird, who read her file and previous test results. My favorite Gmail, and was able to make the diagnosis based on a high a scan result. Her previous doctor said was normal. He ordered a second scan with the same result, and recommended immediate removal of her Enlarged malfunctioning gallbladder that it caused her extreme pain, nausea and weight loss for years that seriously impacted her quality of life and calls to become very weak. It was just weeks before he confirmed her diagnosis that we were able to get in and get her surgery done and she was feeling so much better within 2 days of surgery! The nausea is gone, the pain is almost completely gone (won’t be able to tell for sure if its totally gone until her stomach heals from the surgery, its only been 6 days and she is 80 years old) but already she is able to eat food again without increased pain and nausea and she actually wants to eat and finds herself constantly wanting to be snacking and nibble on food, something she hasn’t been able to do or wanted to do for years. We are so happy we were finally referred to Dr. Byrd. Mom is finally feeling like she’s getting her life back. Her primary care physician that told her that her hide scan test was normal when it was a 90%, is incompetent and should have his license taken away!

I was referred to Dr. Bird for hernia repair and a panniculectomy. Dr. Bird was recommended as an expert surgeon with extensive experience. I appreciate that he explained the different options and what to expect before, during and after surgery. I had no surprises. He gave great post-op care instructions and followed up with me regularly. I recommend him for being highly skilled and genuinely kind and caring.
