My experience with Dr. Benabdallah (Dr. B) was exceptional. I sought a second opinion because I could not reconcile how my body felt with the treatment plan the first urologist I saw proposed. The difference between Dr. Benadallah and Dr. HeWhoShallNotBeNamed (Dr. H) is like night and day. I was referred to Dr. B and able to get in to see him within days. The office staff was friendly and competent. The online new patient portal was straightforward and user friendly. I came prepared with labs and scans and a layman’s knowledge of my options. What really stood out to me was how, right from the start, Dr. B’s approach was that of a partner in my care. He talked to me like an equal, even though he clearly had the superior knowledge. It was a discussion about a problem we would address together. I was struck by his confidence in his ability and his team; which was conveyed with ZERO arrogance. I especially liked that he showed some personality when he talked about how he’s got really great tools that do amazing things. He reminded me of a kid who really likes playing with robots and lasers because they’re just so cool! I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical with the surgical plan he came presented. This was because in my countless hours of research, the more invasive procedure is the standard of care. Dr. B proposed a far less invasive procedure, but he made it very clear that he may need to switch to the more invasive procedure depending on how the surgery was progressing. He was very thorough, in explaining his criteria to change course and his plan for doing so if necessary. Again, it was a discussion between two people with the same goals; understand the problem, understand the options, solve the problem. I left the appointment knowing A LOT more than I knew before and that he was the right guy 100%. After the appointment, I figured I’d get a call from the scheduler in the next few days. However, I got that call probably about half hour after the appointment while I was still on my way home. And …. I was able to schedule surgery was within days! I feel that Dr. B made it happen because he was willing to make the effort; perhaps due to his concern for my kidney and my quality of life. The aforementioned Dr. H scheduled the more invasive surgery (no other options presented) for 6 weeks out. To me Dr. H’s timetable either shows indifference to those factors, impotence to take action, or both despite my inquiry about the appropriateness of the time frame. The surgery went extremely well and Dr. B and his team were able to accomplish what needed to be done with the less invasive procedure. I’m recovering far better than I expected and the follow up by Dr B and his team has been clear, helpful, and easy to navigate. While I hope I never have the need for urologist again, I would never consider going to anyone else after the positive experience I’ve had with Dr. Benabdallah.

Great experience during a tough time
I met Dr Justin while being diagnosed with prostate cancer and facing the next decision as to treatment. I found him to be kind, considerate, and approachable. I opted for surgery, which he performed, and have been as satisfied as i could have expected with the results. He clearly and compassionately outlined the pros and cons of the procedure and the risks. After surgery, facing what ended up being a relatively minor complication, he called me right back when I got ahold of the on call nurse at urology, explained what needed to be done, and ensured I was treated immediately on arrival at the Sibley ER. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend Dr Justin and the whole care team at Sibley. Without reservation.

I've recently had a cystoscopy done by Dr. Benabdallah at Sibley Hospital. I've had less than satisfying experience with the choice of facility that was under construction during my visit, the waiting time (4 hours before from the scheduled time) and the bacterial infection that I received as a result of cystoscopy. The difficulty of reaching out the Doctor once I've suspected the infection and subsequent treatment at the different facility.
