Dr Berthold is the best MD I have ever had. He is extremely thorough and professional in his care delivery. He stands out from others in the field because of his empathetic demeanor and willingness to coordinate care with my other providers. My PCP referred me to him for chronic back pain and instead of treating me based on that he dug further; ordered repeat MRI with contrast and diagnosed me with cancer. I am forever grateful for him and because of the early diagnosis, I am now doing well and living my best life. Overall he is one of the most amazing physicians I’ve come across personally or in my 20+ year professional career in healthcare.

I really wanted to share my experience with Dr. Berthold. After seeing about a million specialists for a mystery pain I've been experiencing and NO answers to date, a friend recommended seeing Dr. Berthold. Let me tell you, during my appointment it was the FIRST time I'd felt like a doctor actually listened to my concerns and what I've been experiencing. His questions were thoughtful and I could tell he looks at a problem from every angle. He was incredibly kind and made me feel comfortable- as going the doctor makes me super nervous. I just feel like a lot can be said for a doctor who is an active listener and can help develop a plan/give strategies toward solving a problem in such a short amount of time. Looking forward to my follow-up appointments!

My initial visit with Dr Berthold, I found him to be compassionate, caring, and he actually listened to me about my physical condition and health concerns. He took so much time with me trying to understand where and why my symptoms are occurring. He devised a plan going forward, that sounds like a great start to figuring out my on-going issues. Dr.Berthold is a highly qualified and caring physician who works hard to improve your quality of life. I have driven close to an hour to see him because of his true interest in helping me and his level of expertise.

He is smart, patient, and he listens. He answers my questions and has solutions. Everyone there is nice and friendly.

Everyone is extremely efficient concerning the cvoid safety of each patient and Dr. Berthold is thorough in his exam and explanations and in answering any questions I may have. I had the PRP injections on Wednesday July 29, 2020 after suffering with my right foot due to plantar fascittis for almost 4 years. I had surgery to release the tendon and a bone spur removed but due to my active lifestyle the pain returned and I was suffering so badly some by nighttime I wanted to cut off my leg. I was referred to Dr. Berthold by my foot surgeon. The PRP injection was totally painless! Dr. Berthold did the injection with ultrasound to assist as he wanted to make sure to get the fascia that was degenerating. After two weeks in a boot and making some minor lifestyle adjustments my pain scale has gone from a 10+ to maybe a 2 somedays. Today is October 13, 2020 and it is amazing to me to wake up with no pain. I cannot thank Dr. Berthold enough and wish I would of seen him sooner.

Dr. Bertold is a wonderful doctor. He's thorough and takes his time to explain issues with you. He does not rush you and treats you with understanding and respect. His staff is very kind and considerate and always willing to help you. Your the best! Thank you.

A wonderful physician. Dr. Berthold spends time listening, examining and problem solving. He is very personable and a pleasure to engage with. He recommended an xray for me and even though report from radiology found nothing, he spotted a small detail which made all the difference in treatment. Grateful for his approach and thoroughness. Staff in the office are lovely as well.

I was referred to Dr. Berthold for a chronic muscle overuse injury affecting one side of my back that wasn't easily diagnosed using conventional imaging techniques such as MRI and x-ray. I received lidocaine and prolotherapy injections over the course of about 6-weeks, both of which were very effective. Each time he administered the injections in exactly the right spot (& depth) with only minimal guidance from me, which was pretty impressive given that the back has many segments/layers of muscle and that the the ultrasound image looked very hard to interpret. He also correctly hypothesized which movement(s) might cause me discomfort aside from just lifting something or bending which revealed a deep understanding of the complex bio-mechanics of the back and core muscles. I also found the staff to be very helpful and efficient.

Dr. Berthold and every staff member I've had contact with at Rehabilitation Physicians is above & beyond. He was very thorough in his evaluation and by actually listening to what I said, was able to diagnose, treat and heal a lower back and hip problem I'd been struggling with for 2.5 years. One week later my pain and spasms were all but gone. My follow-up appointment was equally good. He answered my questions thoroughly, made recommendations and with his guidance, I'm even (carefully) starting to do some exercise!

This Doctor not only treats the patient and listens to what they have to say he finds a way to treat patients without pushing surgery if relief can be obtained without it. A truly wonderful physician I have recommended to others.

I have had low back pain for years. I kept pushing through. Eventually I was forced to seek assistance. I was referred to Dr Berthold and found a Dr who listens, remembers what you tell him, makes eye contact (no, honest, he does and still gets his notes in the computer). He immediately referred me to get SI joint injections (after x-ray and tests) and we have a treatment plan for follow up care of my Fibromyalgia. I feel better than I have in years. Also, his staff is amazing. They are kind and accommodating. If they tell you they will call you with a cancelation, they actually do it. I had come to accept impersonal, cookie cutter health care as the norm, but these lovely people provide health care the way it was meant to be done. I'm 72, so I won't be tapdancing again, but I can do some deeper housework, shop a little longer, and feel more hopeful than I have in a long time.

Dr. Berthold takes his time examining you and carefully develops a plan to help relieve the condition(s) that brought you to him. He is compassionate and his treatment definitely works.

I highly recommend this practice. I was always impressed by the time Dr. Berthold took to listen to any concerns I had. He shows a wide knowledge base that helped in making decisions about my treatment but was always warm and responsive as well as informed. His office staff is also very pleasant and helpful.
