Excellent surgeon.
Dr Iorio always listens carefully to my specific questions He is always honest and direct. It is such a refreshing experience to have a genuine conversation without having to repeatedly attempt to get information. His recommendation was a lateralapproach to remove disc , place a cage spacer and a posterior approach for screw and rod placement. In his capable hands, surgery was completed with the least disturbance to nerves and supportive structure allowing a problem free recovery. I am very grateful.

A Wonderful Doctor for Many Reasons
I've had a long experience with him. He has helped me with severe back pain and trauma. Unable to sit or walk at times without horrific pain. He has stayed with me every step of the way. Brilliant, innovative, caring, experienced, dedicated, plus a host of other amazing attributes. Today, I'm back teaching swimming and hiking! I will always be greatful to this very special person for giving me back my life!

A truly great surgeon!
Someone posted: "He is meticulous, smart, and caring" and that is 100% accurate. Two and a half years ago I had a MAJOR surgery to fuse T10-S1 after two prior unsuccessful fusions. After being told that my fusions had worked and I would have to live with the pain, Dr. Iorio didn't agree. Putting my faith and trust in him was one of the best decisions I have ever made!

Dr. Iorio repaired my fractured hip in 2017 from a bicycle fall. Although he may be a fine surgeon (open induction, internal fixation) he did not look after my WELL BEING. My fall landed on my left hip (technically called the "Greater Trochanter" breaking the hip at the mid-neck. The repair went fine but the doctor failed to restrict use/exercise on my abductor muscle. After a week of P.T. I told the therapist that I couldn't do the side leg raises with ankle weight and it was becoming painful. She said "oh that's OK" and sent me home with sheets to continue P.T. there. Four days later I was back in the E.R. with more pain, x-rays and cat scan. Doctor told me that "you either got new breaks or we missed them last time." I asked for a Orthopedic doctor to show me my x-rays and cat scan. He told me that the Abductor is attached to the greater trochanter and it broke open new fractures above and below it. I told the Dr. I never wanted to see him again after he failed to admit any fault.

When I first met with Dr Iorio he explained to me my situation in a way that I totally understood. Dr Iorio’s explanation and demeanor instilled great confidence in his ability to make me better. After my surgery of lumbar fusion of L3-S1 my symptoms of leg pain have completely cleared up. I highly recommend Dr Iorio and would not hesitate to contact him with any future needs.
