Exactly the sort of doctor medicine needs
I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Porter and his entire practice, including Becca, Courtney and now Shai, all of whom are exceptional providers. I not only trust Dr. Porter with my back, but also to take care of family members who are living with chronic pain and have not found relief elsewhere. Dr. Porter is quick to analyze a situation and have several treatment alternatives planned out. His office works very well with insurance authorizations and can find a course of action that provides effective treatment while addressing insurance considerations. I had been experiencing significant leg, foot and lower back pain that would not respond to exercise, yoga, weight loss and other conservative therapies and was particularly impacting my ability to travel, both for work and to watch my son's play hockey. Dr. Porter worked with me to find interventional solutions that have provided the relief I need to get good sleep and be able to fly, drive and be on my feet as needed.

I took my non English speaking mom to see Dr Justin Porter for the first time for her neck pain. All of the staff at the front desk and the nurses were so very sweet, friendly, and patient. I had no choice to bring my 3 toddlers with us cause my husband was working that day and my mom needs a translator with her. Everyone there were so understanding, kind, and patient to the kids all under 5yo... Dr Justin Porter was so nice, welcoming, knowledgeable, and very attentive to my mom's needs. He made both of us feel safe and in good hands. Totally felt listened to and cared for. Awesome doctor. And yes, my mother is a real patient and this is our real opinion on our experience at this office. Thanks to all the really nice staff there!

Not impressed
I arrived at my first visit and noticed there were no stairs so I had to use the elevator ( I always use the stairs) and then found the waiting room to be dark and it needed updated bad. You would think the Doctor could afford a decorator. As for Dr Porter, he is nice enough but told me he could not help me because he thought I needed back surgery, however my spine surgeon said that he would not recommend surgery at this time. So I am looking for a new pain doctor now that will help me. I have never asked for pain meds so that was never an issue, I was just getting injections.

Find a doctor who appreciates his patients
I disagree with many of the patients who were somewhat charitable about Justin Porter. Maybe he had somebody write them who works for him. But, I found him to be dismissive, arrogant and not particularly interested in what I had to say. When I was telling him my medical history, he got up and walked out of the exam room after one to two minutes. My wife and I looked at each other and wondered if he was coming back since he took no notes, made no statements and said nothing when he left...no "I'll be back", no explanation of where he was going or why he walked out. I eventually opened the door and asked a passing nurse if he was returning and she said he wasn't. He's an arrogant jerk with a god complex. There are a lot of pain management doctors around. Find another one.

Yes
Is a very good doctor and takes time to listen to what your telling him and believing you. A lot of doctors make you feel like you’re a drug addict or just there for drugs. He does not do that. I was quite impressed with him!

I have tried to get in with several pain management doctors, but because my pain isn’t “typical”, I couldn’t find anyone who would take me seriously. Dr. Porter is a gift from God. He is so compassionate and listens to you. He collaborates WITH you and helps create a plan. Then he cheers you on! I am super blessed to have found him. Highly recommend!!!

I was sent to Pain Management - Dr. Porter after almost 2 years in pain. The first procedure did not work as well, so Dr. Porter sat down with me and discussed doing something different. He was not satisfied as I was not satisfied after the first two. I can tell you now, my back feels 110% better and I feel better. At one point, Dr. Porter sent me to a surgeon to look at my back only to find out one part of my pain was my hip - which I ended up getting a new hip which also is 110% better. I am now going to Dr. Porter for my knee for pain management instead of getting a knee replacement. Dr. Porter feels as I do that maybe I can hold off on getting a new knee for a year or two and control it with other procedures which have helped greatly. He is not only a very caring doctor, but you can tell especially during these trying times that he is a a very caring person. I would recommend him and have recommended him to other friends.

Dr Porter is very compassionate and kind. He takes his time and actually listens to his patients concerns. His procedures are relatively quick and he keeps you at ease during procedures by keeping the conversation lite. Being easy on the eyes is also a plus.

I was referred to Okla. Pain Mgmt. for my chronic pain. I was skeptical, as most of us are with chronic pain! More forms to complete, repeating the same story for the umteenth time, and feeling frustrated that this was most likely a waste of time. Dr. Justin Porter identified potential solutions, and began treatment on me. For the first time in over 2 years, my pain is nearly gone. I highly recommend Dr. Porter at OPM, you don't have to live in pain!!!

I was a new patient he walked in the room and didn’t even look at me and when I said I was very sensitive to the steroids he turned in midsentence and walked right out the door. During the procedure he was in such a hurry that he did not even let the local anesthetic take affect before he rammed the ablation needle in the small of my back; the pain was excruciating. You are nothing more than an insurance check to this man, I have never been treated with so much disrespect in my life.

If you are searching for a pain management doctor... Hooray! Your Search is over. Dr. Justin Porter is a fantastic doctor. I’ve had 3 back surgeries and could use a 4th to fuse the Si joint. Dr. Porter and his magical epidurals allow me to keep walking, doing everyday activities, play with my grandkids and just have months without constant debilitating pain.
