I Didn't Feel Listened To
The first appointment was okay. We went over my concerns and options going forward. When I returned after a couple of procedures and appointments, she'd pretty much forgotten about me and my concerns in the first place, because her feedback reflected very little of what my initial concerns were and everything we'd talked about since. It's as if all of our appointments were based strictly on what was on my chart history. No real connection. When I said that I was concerned about occasional pain during sex the week before my menses, I was told jokingly 'just don't have sex around that time'. I asked about screenings for cervical cancers and was told that I'm not at the age where it's an issue. When I looked it up in a medical journal, I actually do fall into that age range. My concerns were often dismissed or explained away, and I left feeling like I didn't completely matter beyond the initial methods of care.

Dismissive
I went to see her after being recommended after seeing 4 Gyn's prior. Very dismissive with my concerns. Told me I most likely do not have a condition since it doesnt align with 'typical' symptoms and should not get surgery for it. I proceeded anyways because I had a feeling I did. Even in pre-op she told me they are most likely not going to find anything. She ended up finding my concern multiple places and removing it. A week after surgery my symptoms continued and she told me that doesnt happen and I probably have another issue. Very dismissive and hard headed. I can tell She is very educated, however, not with my condition. I can tell she has never dealt with a patient with this before, only 2% of women have it. I should have not continued with her after she did not listen to me the first visit. We did not click.

Dr Yadav exceeded my expectations and then some! She was detailed in her explanation of my issues, she was thorough in communicating her proposed plan of action, went to great lengths to assure me that I was in good hands, explained the risks and plan B if when during surgery she needed to make a change in my care. She was personable, listened to my concerns, and was very responsive to any questions I had. She is a rock star in my opinion!
