For over 30 years, as a former college athlete, I've grappled with breathing issues during exercise, consulting numerous specialists across Minnesota without finding a lasting solution. That changed when I met Dr. Lim. His exceptional skill set and experience, which are impressively reflected in his CV, are further demonstrated in his approach to patient care. Dr. Lim's detailed explanations during our consultation showed his deep understanding of my condition. He was patient, attentively addressing all my concerns and questions. His accurate diagnosis of my asthma, tweaking my medications, and the insights into my workout routines were a game-changer. The advanced tests he conducted at Mayo were not only conveniently scheduled but also confirmed his diagnosis and effective treatment. Dr. Lim's commitment to resolving my long-standing health issue has been remarkable. I feel fortunate to have had him as my doctor, and I firmly believe anyone under his care is in excellent hands.

Great Experience with a Great Doctor
Excellent experience with this Dr. Lim. Appreciated his direct approach and not sugar coating his opinion. He did listen, he did ask questions, he did seem genuine and concerned BUT made it very clear that while there are treatments that will make me better the primary factor in them working is if I choose to play by the rules. It was clear that he has no time for anyone who won’t follow the directions and then wonder why they aren’t feeling better. I can see that as seen as arrogance- I saw it as being told if I didn’t want to take control of that aspect of my care, don’t waste my time or his. Totally fair, in my opinion. I feel badly for those who were unhappy with his care as that was not my experience. I left with a plan and will return in 3 months. Yes, he was very direct and sugar coated nothing… for my personality - it was a win.

Unprofessional, dismissive and unhelpful
On the advice of my Minneapolis pulmonologist, I went to Mayo for shortness of breath and chest pain that has been ongoing since the end of December 2021. My doctors in Minneapolis have run a myriad of tests and have been unable to find the underlying cause, thus the referral to Mayo. Dr. Lim did not examine me. He stated that he had read all of my testing and that there was no medical evidence to explain my issues. He implied that the problem was a psychological one and due to my weight or “deconditioning.” Only when I stood up to leave, in tears, did he listen to my heart and lungs. Not once during the encounter did he ask me about symptoms, situations that made them better or worse, medications, previous problems etc. He simply dismissed my questions by saying that there's no medical evidence. He also suggested that my Minneapolis doctors had overtested me. I came to Mayo to seek out answers to my increasingly disabling health condition and I got shamed, ignored and degraded.

I took my son to Dr. Lim and was shocked at how awful he treated such a young person. He was condescending almost to the point of ridiculing, and he was completely lacking in any bedside manner. Moreover he offered no useable treatment. He does a very poor job of representing Mayo.

I agree with the arrogance. I took my mom there years ago, and he wasn't able to help with her cough, and finally gave up.

Very arrogant and self grandiosity radiates from this doctor. Amazed he has maintained his position at the Mayo. Been a patient at the Mayo for 25 plus years & have never experienced such arrogance-his ignorance shows his arrogance. His interns even apologized For his verbal egotistical behavior.
