Dr. Karen Adkins, MD

Dr. Adkins seems frazzled. I feel rushed during her office visits. She doesn't ask the kinds of questions my former internist would ask before I moved to aid prevention. She frequently canceled appointments and was late. The last straw was driving 45 minutes to her office and she refused to see me for being 13 minutes late due to encountering a wreck.

I have been to this office 6 times (4 for another doctor) and 2 for Dr Adkins. Every time I arrive, they ask me for the same information, saying they do not have it. After my first visit with Dr Adkins, I was billed an incorrect amount for my annual visit. I spent 55 minutes on the phone with IU Health to get that corrected. I recently went for my scheduled appointment yesterday which Dr. Adtins had told me to schedule when we last met. After arriving at my scheduled appointment, I was told they did not know why I was there because it was not My Welcome to Medicare appointment. I left and took my business with me. I Would NOT recommend this office!

Dr Adkins is a very good listener when trying to determine what your health issue is. She orders appropriate tests to give the full picture of the problem. When treating the symptoms she suggests the most non evasive path first but alerts the patient to possible other necessary steps that might need to be taken. She is kind, caring and always takes time with you. She’s the best!!
