Excellent MD.
Dr Monroe took time to assess my needs and developed a plan, identifying some specialists in whom she has confidence and a course of action for me to take. She's honest and straightforward. I've reviewed the rest of her reviews here and agree with those who appreciate her candor, her knowledge and her expertise.

WOW is all I can say. This woman had me wear a mask, I did. However I guess because she could tell I did not want to, she proceeded to yell at me, stand up in anger 2 different times in 5 minutes and refused to ask me 3 basic questions to continue my THC Card. Again I was wearing the mask, masks not even required in the State currently, however I complied. I have a trauma and anxiety from abuse, I struggle wearing masks and blocking my airways, but I will for medical reasons. I literally had to beg her, repeatedly, I felt like a piece of dirt....for her to just ask me the 3 questions. I told her I promise I would only say yes or no, as she told me, I was ruining her day. This woman is supposed to be a doctor. Please anyone else who has experienced this behavior with Dr Karen F Monroe please stand up and stop this woman, she is in the wrong profession, clearly. ty

I was a new patient for Dr. Monroe today and was very satisified with her medical care. She is patient, listened to my concerns and presented me with a solid plan to overcome my medical challenges. I highly recommend her.

I visited this doctor and left feeing terrible. She and her staff were impatient and rude. She was loud and when I was finally able to get in to see her I advised that because she wasn't available and I couldn't get in to see anyone else I had to go to the ER, she made a crude comment and yelled to her nurse "Oh she had to go to the ER" and then proceeded to do the exam. Once the exam was over she was like let's immediately get her in to see the specialist. It wasn't a good feeling to be treated that way and not even an apology. I also paid the bill but continued to get past due notices until I went into the office and showed them proof of payment. I have never had a good experience and always felt like I was the problem but after reviewing the experiences I realized that it wasn't me, and found a new primary care physician who treats people with the respect they deserve. Poor doctor with poor attitude.

Dr. Monroe is a straight-forward, honest, family doctor. After moving to St.Petersburg, my wife and I went to several different doctors. I happened upon Karen's information through my insurer's website. After going to her for just shy of a decade, I can say that she is easily the best doctor I have seen. I enjoy the fact that she does not pull her punches, and is good at what she does. Dr. Monroe's experience may be what sets her apart, but her direct nature is what made me a loyal patient.

I had a horrible experience with this Doctor and advise future patients to avoid her. I went to this Doctor and asked her to prescribe two prescriptions that I've been taking for years. During my visit she claimed I needed to do an EKG before she could give me one prescription. I was confused because my previous doctors prescribed the same medication without doing a EKG, but I went ahead and let them do an EKG. The EKG results came back normal and Dr. Monroe gave me the prescription I neede

She's not interested in building a relationship with you unless you have money. She will not make payment arrangements with you because "people don't pay their balances". I'm an individual.

Dr. Monroe is wonderful! I had the nasty flu that had been going around. My general practitioner couldn't get me in until the following week. A friend told me that Dr. Karen Monroe was amazing and books urgent appointments. In the span of a morning, I booked an appointment for that afternoon with her friendly staff and updated my insurance to accept her as my primary. Dr. Monroe is extremely knowledgeable and kind. You can tell that she takes pride in her work and truly cares about her patients.

Dr Monroe and her staff are fantastic. They not only delivery excellent care but also treat their paitents like gold. In addition Dr Monroe's new office on the Palms of Pasadena hospital campus has beautiful views of the intercostal waterway and each room is decorated with original art. Doctor Monroe and her staff are the best.

I would not recommend anyone to Dr. Monroe. Her bedside manner is horrible, has student physicians do her work for her and screams her diagnosis and prescription advice down the hall in front of other patients. Also, she is fraudulent with insurance and will personally call you to get her money. She has stated she will sue me over a very small amount of money with other expletives. Extremely unprofessional and is obviously in need of cash.

Her nurse does not follow up and as a result certain tests were not done that resulted in several nights at the ER. Dr. Monroe did not show empathy when called to inform her of the danger's of her nurse not following up despite numerous call and promises that she would do so. In this case the lack of follow up became life threatening.
