Dr. Karyn Haitz, MD

My 83 yo Dad had a melanoma removed from his back that was deep and required 3 layers of stitches. The day after the procedure he was in a great deal of pain so we called the doctor to get a pain relief prescription. Dr Haitz said she didn't believe in prescription pain medication and actually wasn't even registered to write those type of prescriptions!! She admitted that the surgery was deep and other doctors in the same office normally prescribe pain relief for the same procedure. In fact another doctor offered to send in the prescription for my dad but Dr. Haitz refused. This Doctor should NOT be allowed to do surgeries if shes not able or willing to manage pain. BTW, my dad is tough as nails and at 83 he climbs mt baldy every week, mt Whitney every year, rides his bike along the river to the beach almost daily. We have never even had him complain about any pain, ever, until now and this Doctor failed!!!

I saw Karyn Haitz 2 times for a mysterious growth / skin lesion on my face. She said it would go away and injected me with something that I was charged $192.00 for. After going to a different Dermatologist, they did a test and sent to a lab. Turns out it was skin cancer and I had to have Mohs surgery to remove it. This should have been tested by Karyn Haitz if she was a true professional. Do not go see them! They also charge $567.00 for office visits! Outrageous and unprofessional!

After waiting more than a month for my appointment, I was called the day of to tell me that they don't take my insurance and cancelled my appointment. That is bad business, especially when I have to take the time off work. I talked to Nita who said they were short staffed and she couldn't get to my paperwork till the day of my appointment. That is very disappointing and I would say go somewhere else. They are confused over there.
