Dr. Katharine McNamara, DO

She will not help you with pulled muscles. I suffered in severe pain for two weeks. She will refer you to a real specialist.

Been going to her for a few years. Straight forward, to the point and good treatment. No problems

Staff is great. Doctor McNamara has been seeing my family and children for years and we've been pleased with our care at each visit. Highly recommend.

She refused to take me on as a patient solely because I went and saw another Dr almost a year before trying to see her. I did not stay with the other doctor because he cussed at me during our first visit, but because I saw him, this doctor refuses to take me on as a patient.

She is just awful! Judgemental and down right rude

The attention and time that Dr. McNamara and her staff gives you is first class. If you need a specialist, they find one that accepts your insurance and make the appointment for you. Dr. My Namara is very thorough in giving results and takes her time to listen to you.I highly recommend her.

Not a good experience with his doctor. She seems cold without any empathy, and very insulting. At times I didn’t have time to see if she was a good doctor or not. I couldn’t get past her arrogant personality, which was terrible in my opinion.

Saw her when she was new to Rockport and was impressed. Not any more. Does not listen even if you repeat yourself, severe God complex, cares nothing for your questions and will dismiss you if you question her about any of her statements. Spends the appointment looking at her laptop and dispenses incorrect opinions on nutrition and even medication. Expensive. Do not recommend.

Patient for less than 1 year. Dr. McNamara is condescending, rude, and passive aggressive. Absolutely no bedside manner. Impatient, does not listen, keeps her face in her computer screen. In late 2022, still has “sick visits” where patients must call from their vehicle, answer lengthy 2019 COVID questionnaire, must go unaccompanied, and wear mask through entirety of visit. Pushes COVID vaccine, and ala Dr. Fauci, states that masks are, “for your protection and mine”.

Awful experience. Expensive and no help.

I am appalled. First of all. The first time I visited this location they were closed early on Friday (which I wasn’t aware of) and the back door was left open with PHI record room exposed for the world to see. Nice. Then when I went to apply as new patient I got a call from front desk saying she couldn’t accept me but when I asked why she couldn’t give an answer. I think if you aren’t accepting someone as a patient you should at least call then back sooner than a week and give them a reason. That is just rude.

Kate and her staff are wonderful. I have the Obamacare HMO, and they are so good about getting referrals through, and staying on the phone to help you if your specialist missed the referral.

Dr. McNamara is great. Her staff is horrible. As of today, I have notified my insurance that I need to change my PCP. I've been coming to Dr.McNamara for several years, so I am not happy to have to do this, but her staff just does not care.

Dr. McNamara is awesome! She listens!! A rare characteristic in doctors today. Her staff is friendly and efficient. I'm so glad I found her!

Dr. McNamara is a breath of fresh air. She is attentive, and collaborative. She carefully considers the health information you provide, and recommends a plan of action to investigate any areas of concern. She has a good grasp of how to manage certain health conditions with natural/nutritional support solutions vs. simply treating symptoms with prescription drugs. I feel confident in our partnership. The office personnel are helpful when you need information. I'm happy I found Dr. McNamara.

Dr. McNamara is insightful and treats to resolve the issue and not the symptoms. Definitely a breath of fresh air in the Medical community.

She kept us waiting for more than an hour. Even knowing our medical history in advance, she didn't mention she won't treatment my depression with meds. Also, brushed off my husband's request for help with ED by referral to specialist. The referral was never made. We never got itemized billing - receipt was a piece of paper. Appt in January-now late April still trying to sort out am't charged vs what BCBS allows. Entrance to office not well marked.

Make sure you have plenty of time for Dr visits. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE DR THIS MUCH. Always have to come back for follow up.

Dr McNamara is attentive during my appointments, but follow-ups and referrals to specialists has been terrible. Her staff seems nice but lacking in competence. I have to follow up on everything that I would expect the office to handle. Not happy, but unfortunately choices are few.

Zero follow up or action from Dr. McNamara on things she promised to do. I would not recommend her to anyone.
