Reviews had me hopeful but it wasn’t much better
I went to her as a result of a horrible experience with someone within the same network. I had high hopes for her after seeing the reviews and knowing she works a lot with POTS patients. The nursing staff was wonderful. I would go back solely for them if it was possible. It appeared that she was aware of my negative experience with the previous cardiologist but dismissed me by stating shes, “known him for a long time and he is an incredibly intelligent man”. Completely ignoring what my issue with him was. She didn’t ask for details and I didn’t give much other than telling her I had a bad experience and what I was trying to get tested for. I was willing to let it slide since you don’t get along with everyone. However, I learned that the previous doctor put in the request for the echo a month after I terminated his services. That was the deciding factor on me canceling all my future appts with her and Norman Regional Systems. They don’t care about their patients being disrespected.

Dr Katherine Hays a terrible and dismissive doctor
I saw Dr. Hays when I first started my journey to get my POTS diagnosis in 2021. She told me to increase my salt and water intake and to come back if it didn't help and she would do a tilt table test and explore other options. When I came back feeling no improvement she refused to do any other additional testing and was dismissIve of my concerns. It's now been over a year and I have my pots diagnosis thanks to doctors who actually did there jobs and ran test to figure out what was wrong with me. I would highly recommend everyone avoid Dr Katherine Hays if they can she will only do the bare minimum and lie to you about what treatments she will do.

NEGLIGENT & DISCRIMANTORY! After 11/20/19 ER visit my 67 year old foster brother(mentally retarded via DHS) was admitted to the hospital. Dr Hays diagnosed him with CHF, a blood clot in his heart & 20-25% heart function. His heart rate was at 112-140. He was in bad shape. After giving oxygen for 2 days she discharged him at 4PM on 11/20/19. He seemed slightly better that Fri night but Sat morning he started downhill again. I put him back on oxygen and continued it through the week end. Mon morning we called Hays office(spoked to a nurse) and asked for him to be re admitted. The nurse checked with Hays and she said "no". My wife demanded to speak with the Dr directly for an explanation. The nurse called back 1 hour later and said she would not re-admit him because it was not a cardiac problem, just a cold. We then took him to Okla Heart Hospital. He was admitted with CHF, a blood clot in his heart & 10-15 % function. In 5 days they removed 7 litres fluid and did an angiogram.Better now

I met Dr Hays in a situation that was not an emergency but procedure requiring attention that would preclude it becoming possible emergency in the near future. Dr Hays was straight forward, matter of fact and very personable. I like her and her demeanor and choose her as my cardiologist. Dr Hays is an excellent doctor and with her experience and ability’s make her easily the top choice for me.
