Dr. Kathleen Laveaux, MD

I had an initial appointment with Dr. Laveaux, and everything went well. She recommended that I switch from my current breast cancer medication to an alternative. She provided basic information about the new medication, and I let her know that I would do my own research before making a decision. Between appointments, I decided to seek a second opinion. The other doctor’s office reached out to Dr. Laveaux office to gather information about my cancer history. At my next visit with Dr. Laveaux, the nurse took my blood pressure, asked me a few routine questions, and then left the room. When she returned, she informed me that Dr. Laveaux would not be seeing me and that I should “get treated by the other doctor.” I find it deeply concerning that a medical professional would refuse to see a patient simply because they sought a second opinion. A doctor’s role is to provide guidance and care, not to expect unquestioned compliance. I would strongly advise others to carefully consider

She has guided me through 3 different bouts with cancer. I'm still standing here smiling. Dr. Laveaux and her staff are amazing. They are the reason i'm still alive.

Doctor was referred to me by my daughter

Dr. Laveaux released me as a patient because of a serious mistake made by her and her staff. A si.ple phone call zo my pharmacy would have rectified the situation . Instead her massive ego and narcissist demeanor caused me serious issues. After releasing me , she called my pharmacy and they confirmed her mistake. All could have been avoided. The staff is very rude and condescending and act un-grateful for their job. In the long run it was a blessing. New oncologist who is more than competent. And a new lease on life y no thanks to Dr. Laveaux.

totally incorrect treatment protocol for my conditions, both hematology & oncology. failed to document the consultations in my chart/record & then a couple weeks later when I called to get the name of the blood test she said she wanted on me to test for a certain type of blood cancer she didn't remember saying that, or that she recommended a full body CT with contrast OR that she recommended a biopsy, potentially jeopardizing my life. did not notify my primary doctor that referred me of what tests she stated he needed to order either. so no record anywhere of what she said during my appointment. sadly incompetant. how can you drop the ball like that on critical information that is required by the medical board to be in a patient's history?!?

first she incorrectly advised protocol for my hyperhomocysteinemia condition - went against the treatment outlined by the vascular doctor. a third doctor agreed fully with the vascular Doctor treatment. then it gets worse - she totally dropped the ball on a possible cancer issue. she told me I needed a blood test for a specific type of blood cancer that could be causing my lymph node problem. I requested that be coordinated with a blood draw with one of my other providers since I get superficial phlebitis from needles. she FAILED to document this in my chart & now does not recall this & is totally clueless. She also told me to tell my doctor to order a full body CT with contrast to see if there were any other areas of lymph node issues. now she told him she didn't say that (she also failed to document this in my chart after my visit). STAY AWAY - she obvious has total disregard for her patient's by failing to properly document our records on something so crucial is cancer!!

She is friendly, caring and intelligent. She is very thorough and diagnosed other issues and sent me the proper specialists for non cancer related problems.

I witnessed her bribing patients to submit positive reviews of her. She's an artificial physician!

Dr. Laveaux is a very competent, caring and no nonsense physician. She will spend as much time with you as you need, explain your treatment and test results in language for the layperson. I would recommend her to anyone going through the difficult diagnosis of cancer. Her assistant, Ria Alexander is just excellent and the staff at Ga. Cancer Ctr. at the front desk and in the infusion facility are outstanding.

Dr. Laveaux has an excellent easy manner. She takes the time to explain complex issues. We find her very intelligent and always seeking answers. She and her entire staff are wonderful. We would recommend her.

Dr. Laveaux was personable and very friendly. She put my wife and I at ease and thoroughly answered all of our questions.

My visit was thorough and complete, but I found her to be caring and compassionate. It was a difficult visit made a bit easier by her great bedside manner

Dr Laveaux made me feel at ease. She warm and patient and took the time to go over everything.
