Shockingly poor care and conduct, openly insults other medical professionals, stigmatizes mental health, and inflated ego. Should not be a PCP, in my opinion. PCPs are there to coordinate care and be your strongest support. Negative reviews can be sketchy & I’m aware that the people who write them can be unreasonable at times. First one I’ve ever written & simply doing it if it helps someone else. If you have a diagnosis in your chart related to mental health, she will have a bias & it will negatively affect how she treats & diagnoses physical conditions as well as mental health conditions. She’s now practicing in PDX, OR at a clinic that, historically, has provided me with excellent care. My prior PCP moved. The practitioners there are wonderful and this doesn’t reflect on them, to be clear. Physical health-I had cellulitis & tendinitis (which she failed to diagnose and she’s a DO) at the same time, same arm. She said "next step is an ultrasound" at one follow-up visit, then refused her own next steps & didn’t put in the order and wanted an additional visit…again. Not to mention doubting my pain & offering no insight from the beginning. Left with the strong impression that she was proud of herself for her amazing discernment that I was an addict and just there for pain pills (I’m not and wasn’t). Had to ask her to check my cholesterol bc she didn’t think it was important when doing lab work (hadn’t been done in over a year). Wrote referral for GI & allergist that were simply wrong & unusable. Professional conduct - In discussing my care w/my past psychiatrist, current PhD neuropsychologist of 6 yrs(referred to by the clinic) & chiropractor, she let me know that they aren’t “real doctors”-exact words & therefore their medical diagnoses & opinions aren’t valid or considered. She explained that PAs (my old PCP) have time to be thorough while her schedule doesn’t allow for it. Complained that she is stretched too thin to review my medical history or current conditions comprehensively & that I should advocate for HER to management. She has PAs and other types of medical professional on her team so I feel for them. Mental Health- If you’re living with a diagnosis of anxiety, depression, and/or neurodivergence, I implore you to not see Dr. Bochat. She will exasperate, shame & make inappropriate medical decisions for your care & well being. The stigmas surrounding mental health are real & seeing Dr. Bochat is like going back in time-left me with the impression that she’d prefer folks have a lobotomy rather than seek appropriate, informed medical care.

Confusing experience
She talked me out of a pap/pelvic despite a history of abnormal paps and 2 colposcopies. Told me I didn’t need a mammogram even though I was 45, and then she didn’t even do a breast exam. Her physical exam consisted of listening to my breath and pressing on my abdomen 3 times. That was literally all she did. She is not thorough, competent, or inquisitive. Asks very few questions when you bring a concern to her attention. Didn’t appear to want to even touch me let alone provide basic medical care. It was an appalling experience. I left Providence solely as a result of my experience with her. I’m back at Kaiser with my old doctor, who is wonderful. I never should have left. Avoid this doctor if you want a good one.
