Incompetent
I went to Dr. Kirby for neck pain. He did an ablation without having any X-rays or an MRI. The ablation did not work. Subsequently, I went to Emory. They would not touch me without analyzing an MRI X-rays. The Emory treatment worked. Kirby’s failure to do the procedure without the diagnostics noted above subjected me to several unnecessary risks.

What a dummy
Kirby himself is just plain dumb. The first time I saw him he tried to count the days since my last Rx fill, but misread the year. I saw his PA after that for over two yeas straight. When I saw Kirby again, he couldn't figure out how his computer worked. He kept trying to double tap the screen to open folders on the desktop. Then he prescribed me 600 mg of schedule 3 pain like and lost the prescription before he left the room. Said he couldn't remember if he printed it or sent it electronically. When I asked him why he was changing my Rx he snorted 'This is what we're doing'. I'm pretty sure he is changing it to make me want to look for another dr. His PA is ok, certainly better than Kirby, but ultimately only a PA with no real power. I would not recommend going here if you can help it.

Grind them out!
My wife has been going to the Kirby clinic for 11 years. Everything has gone smoothly until last month. I have been in the hospital for surgery six times already this year with one more to go. So you see that our home has been in turmoil since April. When I was home I would lay out my medication for a day at a time. Some way one of my pills got mixed up with hers. When she went in after giving a urine sample the previous month they jumped on her. Cut her off her pain medication and sent her home with nothing. She has never had a bad test in 11 years going there. The entire organization stinks. You might see the doctor once every three years and deal with his pa and nurse who do nothing but ask how your doing and hand out or fax them to the pharmacy which takes about three minutes then see next time. A note they put in her file so far has caused her to be rejected by all other pain clinics. She is in bad shape and getting worse.

Totally inappropriate political signage
I went in today, and there was a large Trump sticker at the checkin desk that could be seen from any seat in the waiting room. Incredibly innapropriate and unprofessional to have politics present in an office where there are African American patients and nurses.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I was a patient for 4+ years & recently admitted to hospital which prescribed me pain meds while admitted and only taken while admitted. When discharged I went to my regular visit & I came forward and told them hospital gave me another medication so they did a drug screen which I told them urine came back showing what hospital prescribed me. Now Dr. Kirby’s office will no longer see me nor listen to anything I say & they just treat me like some kind of street corner drug addict & that is so not fair to us that have legitimate medical problems & take our meds as prescribed, it’s just not fair! I expected better from Dr. Kirby & this really disappointed me. No one should be treated this way. I wouldn’t send my dog to see anyone of those heartless so called doctors in his office.

He in my opinion was very hurried and agitated on this Monday morning. He did not listen to me when explaining my pain. I told him recently my knee down into my calf was numb. He said I wouldn’t worry about that. His nurse interrupted us two times. He seemed very agitated and it interrupted my explanation of my pain. He truly only wants to give pain meds not find the root cause of my pain. I want to know what is causing my pain, not mask it with a bunch of pills. I do not recommend him unless you only want pills. I will not go back. I would give it 0 stars.

He is a no nonsense kind of guy. Admirable trait, But It took me telling him to stop interrupting me and to let me finish answering the question before he attempted to turn on a bedside manner. Once it was turned on, it still wasn't good as he kept interrupting me with new question as I attempted to answer the previous one. there is more, but I am reluctant to share . Bottom line, if bedside manner, empathy, and comfort during procedures don't matter to you, Dr. Kirby is the Dr. for you

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Kirby?
Dr. Kirby is not a warm and fuzzy doctor. How many doctors have you gone to are warm and fuzzy? Probably none. I don't expect that from any doctor. He has two PAs and one is really great and the other is very matter of fact You see them on a rotating basis and I dread it when I have to see one of them. She makes comments under her breath about what the other PA had done/prescribed, shakes her head and then prescribes the same thing the other PA did. Very unprofessional and cold.

I was referred here after a failed back surgery and diagnosis of chronic pain syndrome/laminectomy syndrome. The only good thing that came from seeing Kirby was that I received just enough hydrocodone per day to make my pain a tolerable 5 on a 10 scale. They constantly trued to push invasive procedures on me that from my research, including talking to people that had them, didn't work. I only stayed because insurance wouldn't cover leaving. I left as soon as insurance allowed! Avoid!
