Dr. Kelly Barker, DO

I have been her patient since I moved here in 2017. She listens, looks at the big picture, shares her knowledge in an understandable way. She also goes to bat for me if the insurance carriers are giving me a hard time on needed treatment. I feel like she is very supportive. I cannot tell you how many ongoing medical problems she has helped with - in ways that past doctors did not -offering me real solutions! That's huge. Highly recommend!!!!

She has been an amazing PCP and helps me with my weight loss journey and explains everything that has happened to me in the medical world. Easy to talk to and be open about my life and health. Thankful to have her in my life.

Overlooks apparent in your face symptoms!

Dr. Barker is extremely knowledgeable, pragmatic and caring. I love going to DOs because they are trained as an MD with a more holistic / whole human outlook, and she brings the full package. I have not felt hurried in our appointments as I see noted by other reviewers. In fact, Dr. Barker has gone the extra mile to research and address new issues right then and there (spent time discussing which vehicle of medication was best for me; another time, she got forms and sample kit for genetic testing she wanted me to do given a recent diagnosis for one of my siblings). Since Covid, it’s been a bit tougher to reach them by phone, but I have had great results booking appointments and sending messages through their portal. Dr. Barker returns messages promptly in this manner, and that’s helped avoid an appointment a few times. The support staff are friendly and good at their jobs, and I don’t wait long for appointments.

Dr. Barker is truly amazing! I love that she genuinely cares enough to figure out what’s going on with me anytime I come in to see her because sometimes it’s hard to figure it out. She knows exactly what questions to ask. She’s extremely knowledgeable! I never feel like I’m being rushed and she always takes the time to really listen to me. Also, she wears Chuck Taylors and I think that’s pretty rad. She’s simply the BEST!

Dr. Barker is a great doctor! Very thorough and conscientious! She never rushes me through an appointment, and explains everything that we’re discussing in great detail. Dr. Barker is best general Practitioner I have had, and I am very grateful for her care!

My previous primary care physician was no longer in my insurance network. Fortunately Dr. Barker was available.I am so relieved and happy to find such a thorough and caring doctor.

Overall, Dr. Barker is a very good doctor. She is very thorough and answers my questions. However, I do agree with the review about the staff not answering the phone or returning calls in a timely manner. I always have to call at least twice to receive a response. Very frustrating!

Although I personally like Dr Barker as a provider, I do not like the difficulty of trying to reach her for a concern or follow up. Nurse practitioner and office staff rarely pick up phone and lack immediate follow up. Appointments are difficult to make. I will be seeking another office.

Text the time she needs to get the job done! I’ve never had a doctor that is so thorough. I will keep traveling to continue to see her! I go from Sun City to Scottsdale and it’s worth it every single mile!

This Doc is consumed with time and insults the patient if her rigid schedule is disturbed. On my second appointment I left overly stressed after dealing with her obsession with time. I felt harassed, and that my medical issues had been diminished by her manic behavior. A good Doc never devalues a patient. This woman knows nothing of good patient communication, compassion nor sensitivity. Even the one star rating is far too generous. Would I recommend her - NEVER

Amazing both staff and doctor! I was in dire straights and forgot my medication on vacation. I sent a portal message and within 24 hours my meds were waiting for me at the pharmacy. Thanks again and highly recommend!

Dr. Barker was a good doctor. However, over the past two years she took on too many patients and couldn't handle them all. She limits patients to 15 minutes regardless if there is enough time to answer questions or not and doesn't care if you wait an hour to see her. After my last visit, she told me she didn't have time to answer all my questions and had to eat lunch. She told me to schedule another appt. Then, she lost my urine sample and wanted me to come back at my time and expense. I'm done!

Dr. Kelly Barker is an AMAZING doctor. She takes the time to explain everything in detail to you no matter how long it takes. She does run behind but will never take time away from you if it is needed. I would recommend her to anyone. My whole family sees her and gets the best medical care I have ever seen. Thank you Dr. Barker for taking care of us with such care, lover and compassion!

misdiagnosis should have been found earlier....resulted in death

I would recommend her to anyone. She is a great doctor. Dr Barker treated my minor ailments with the same great care as my more major ailments. Excellent doctors are hard to find and she is one of the best.
