Dr. Hendricks has a broad knowledge in his field. He is smart, thorough and takes all the time you need to answer questions and work through any of your concerns. I found him to be kind and caring as well as an excellent surgeon.

No more hip pain after total hip replacement

Staff was good but I showed up 30 minutes early like they asked to fill out paperwork finally went back 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment and got X-rays. Went to a room took my blood pressure then nothing for an hour. I walked out girl at the front desk was very apologetic and wanted me to reschedule I refused if he can’t read a watch then I don’t want him cutting on me. I’m sure he is nice man and staff spoke highly of him but it’s disrespectful and my time is worth something!!!!

Dr. Hendricks took on my case pledging to fix a hip that was implanted the previous year by another orthopedic surgeon. I had home healthcare who communicated my care and progress with Dr. Hendricks’ staff. I followed all instructions and had hopes of walking normally with the second new hip. It didn’t happen. I asked for additional care and exams by Dr. Hendricks. It didn’t happen. For the second time care with a second orthopedic surgeon specialty in hip replacements was subpar. Neither surgeon conducted hands-on examinations after surgery. There was no hands-on manipulation to find my painful complaints. The joint pops in/out. The new implant joint sets further back in my buttocks because my first joint crumbled when removed. A week after surgery, the thigh bone fractured at the end of the new longer thigh implant. Ultimately, Dr. H told me that I am “broken and that I need to walk with a cane”. He never once did a physical. I wish I had never had my hip replaced!!!

Didn't see the surgeon much but the care from nurses was excellent. But no following up after going home. I guess they figure if you have a problem you will call them. It's more like an assembly line in the OR. However my pain is gone and that was the main thing for me. Yes i would recommend this facility to family and friends.

Continuity of care is poor. His staff do not followup. I have developed a complication as a result of poor followup. I am not sure that the physician is aware of this situation. I am extremely disappointed and have made the decision to seek post surgery care with another physician.

Great physician, excellent outcomes!

Dr. Hendricks is an excellent physician. He has good bedside manners and great surgical hands. He did knee replacement on both of the knees of my mother and she has been doing great. In addition, the quality of care at Menorah Medical center exceeded beyond expectations. Nurses were caring and post operative care was remarkable.

He is sharp as a tack. I’m a RN and I can be critical. He put me at ease instantly. Can’t wait for knee surgery. I had to wait to see him but knowing how busy Drs get, I didn’t mind.

I had my pre-op visit with Dr. Hendricks this last week. Everything went well. He is very honest and truthful about everything that will happen when I have surgery.

Friendly knowledgeable listens and answers questions

Yes, because Dr. Hendricks still takes time to care!!! You're more than a number or someone that's increasing his numbers. Dr Hendricks takes time to know you as a patient and that's very important because everyone is not a textbook. And I'm definitely a patient that doesn't fit the textbook??! I consider him an old fashion doctor with current technology and knowledge.

Friendly, efficient, competent consultation and follow-up. Dr. Hendricks and his staff took as much time as I needed for questions and advising, and there was additional follow-up communications and clarity by his nurse. Dr. Henricks was highly recommended by my family physician, and I feel I have made the right choice for my surgery.

Dr. Hendricks himself is such a caring and compassionate man. He takes the time to answer any and all questions I might have. He must hand pick his staff because they all demonstrate the same level of commitment that he does. Dr. Hendricks did a total left hip replacement for me and I could not have asked for a better surgeon. To me, Dr. Hendricks displays the type of demeanor I think every doctor and surgeon should show their patients; unfortunately, I don't think that's something that can be taught in medical school. I travel from Topeka to see Dr. Hendricks and am so glad I chose to do so. I would highly recommend Dr. Hendricks and his staff to anyone. I don't usually like doctors, but I love this man!!!

Dr. Hendricks was wonderful. He was respectful, informative, and took the time to talk to me and get my questions answered. The knee replacement surgery was a success. He also replaced my mother-in-law's knee about 10 years ago. I would recommend him to anyone.

I was a previous patient (2012-2013 & 2017) of Dr.Hendricks when he was at KU Med. I followed him when he went to Menorah Hospital-KC Bone & Joint Replacement & Sports Medicine. He saved my life in 2013. I’d had 4 hip replacements (2 bilateral). I was referred to him by another orthopedic surgeon who said I needed to see the Regional Expert in complicated, (multiple) hip revisions. I was planning for #’s 5 & 6. Dr. Hendricks is fabulous and he’s a kind hearted person. He is an elite, expert surgeon. He explains everything well, answers all my questions. He’s funny! He always sits down and visits with me no matter how busy he is. He makes me feel like my time is important and he listens to me. He’s never on his computer as he has a scribe for doing that which frees him up to actually be able to listen rather than doing paperwork during the visit. BRAVO!! I saw him April 2020 for 2 separate visits and it was like seeing an old friend. He will always be the ortho WIZARD in my eyes. Thanks

Really wish I had visited Dr. Hendricks before I had my hip replacement. Very professional, very personable and extremely knowledgeable.
