Really passive and was not listening to me.
She asked me a question after I'd just talked about what she was asking. She was too busy typing notes and not listening to me. Clearly then, she probably missed half of what I said. She's very passive; I had to press her to give an opinion. You have to know exactly what to ask because she isn't forthcoming with anything. She might be an OK migraine doctor or for routine neuro stuff, but if you have anything more complicated than that, go to someone else. I refused an MRI of spine (after we did the brain - because why didn't we do both at once?) because the contrast agent Bronson uses is super nasty. So then it was like she done with me. She just looked at me and so when I pressed her, all she did was refer me to the headache clinic. Which was ridiculous because our guess (I self-diagnosed) at what was going on would not be helped by the headache clinic. No offers to further investigate my condition or find a specialist at Univ Mich or Mayo.

She barely helped me with what I needed and refused to see me again. I had unresolved problems that she refused to address. She acted like treating me wasn’t worth her precious time.

I was diagnosed with MS 20 years ago. I’ve moved around a bit & have been very fortunate to be able to see some of the best neurologist in the country. Dr. Ybema is very nice and easy to talk to, but I find her in office MS work up testings lacking. There are certain physical tests (example:walking slow & fast down hall) all my other Nueros have done and she didn’t. There are basic MS tests for an accurate work up that she did not do. Will be looking for new dr.
