Horrible
Dr. Austin is very rude, argumentative and disrespectful. He doesn't have any intention in helping me. He pushes medicine that doesn't work, and hates to prescribe what does work. Stay away from him if you can.

My first visit to see Dr. Austin went very well. He was very thorough when it came to questions and answers and also the physical aspect of the visit where he would feel my spine, etc. He also had an x-ray taken of my spine so he knew exactly what was going on. The staff is always friendly, the lobby is clean, easy to make an appointment, short wait time. The NP makes sure to answer all of your questions. I would definitely recommend Dr. Austin for pain management

Staff kept asking the same questions that were already answered which heightened my anxiety/frustration. This is my first time ever going to a pain management place and I felt that, even while having mental instabilities that are being worked on elsewhere, this staff was "testing me" on purpose in the midst of not listening, talking over me and making me feel attacked emotionally/mentally. Before caring for my own ailments, for years I supported clients who for some reason, doctors thought it was okay to almost bully/accuse people who were only seeking help...not drugs...help! I was livid at their appts and now that my 1st appt was also traumatic smh I seriously rather look for help where staff actually cares. The 2 stars are for the only 2 people in that office who were nice/respectful/comforting/personable (older short/petite Black lady from the lab and RN Yolanda for ensuring I understood the next steps. After the beatdown, it makes you question your willingness to be "helped".

I walked in the room and he started in on me. Before even reviewing my case, I was accused of being a drug seeker. As I am not a criminal on parole, I was sickened by his attitude. Some people, regardless of their education, should not be given a position of authority. He’s a joke.

Dr. Austin is not a compassionate doctor. He is aloof, accusatory and unkind. You are made to feel that you have a ‘mental disorder’ and that your pain is essentially in your head. A dismissive attitude, to say the least. I do not drink, smoke or do drugs. I am in great shape, exercise on a daily basis. I have never been to a pain mgmnt clinic - I have terrible fibromyalgia and arthritis - I was referred to Dr. Austin by a rheumatologist- I have never been treated more like a convict, addict!

Every doctor at his practice, aside from Ellen Robertson, has zero compassion, zero desire to truly answer your questions and listen to your opinions about your care, and assumes every person that walks in there is a drug addict. I have several chronic pain conditions that are all documented. I have never failed a drug screen. But yet I am treated like I am being combative for wanting explanations or new treatments when things don't work, or that I just want drugs. Just awful and humiliating.

I've been with him for over a year, had a failed double fusion in July, he not only did not believe me (test results were available to him) but when I finally got a combo of non-narcotics and narcotic medications working, he took me off of them to put me on a new drug, I did not sleep for a MONTH. 2 visits in a row that I kept count, 8 times he told me I was "challenging him", by asking questions. Thought I was being too emotional, however, my Bowen Centre case manager with me agreed.

complete jerk. please do yourself a favor and avoid this guy. Horribly disrespectful. deems everyone a drug-seeker. doesn't even review the patient's chart before entering the room and beginning the verbal onslaught. Go anywhere else. ANYWHERE.

Hate this place! You can never get through on phone, they don't return messages! I find Dr. Austen to be rude, never remembers who I am after going for 2 years, doesn't even have the decency to at least read my file before walking into the room! The nurses and practioner Ellen are the only decent part of this practice. Also, the office has closed early the last two days in a row at 4:30- have tried to get through can't even schedule an appt, what dr closes early and patients can't speak to nurse

The very first meeting with him, found him extremely rude & implied I was just another drug abuser looking for medication. Maybe he was having a bad day, but no excuse to treat a pt. whom you've never met this way. Would never recommend this Dr. for any reason.

Pain doctors love to hold you hostage with pain medication but not actually help you with anything. At this point suicide is probably the best option then doctors who don't care about you at all!
