Fantastic
Dr. Rich was so great in explaining what was going on with my neck and nerve pain. He was able to get me in the next day for a cervical spinal injection. Dr. Lathan McCall did an excellent job administering the injection and I am hoping to feel some pain relief in the coming days.

Satisfied patient
Went to Dr. Rich for a second opinion re lower back, hip and knee pain. Fully reviewed my MRI and recommended a less invasive treatment that is also easily reversible, that he personally did not do but would help get me to a surgeon that could. Sent me back to original surgeon to see if they offered that treatment. They don't. So sent Dr. Rich an email asking for his help in getting to a surgeon he recommended for that treatment, in less than an hour I had a call from that surgeon's office to set up an appointment. Very amiable, fully explained the MRI, his reading and answered all questions without rushing.

Very Pleased
Very happy with my initial consult appointment . Dr. Rich was thorough, taking the time to listen to extensive medical history, reviewed clinical information while giving options and considered my thoughts and concerns to help form a plan of action.

Not Ever
Secretary promised to try to get my son an MRI for back issue. Drove to Raleigh, was seen by Dana Woodard Johnson who refused, basically told us to go back to other doctor( regarding TN symptoms ) didn’t do anything regarding back. Took 220.00 for NOTHING. I did later see a dr who ordered MRI. Son had 3 spinal issues. I do not recommend this practice to anyone.

I developed severe low-back pain in 2015. The first surgeon I saw recommended a two-level fusion. I went to Dr. Rich for a second opinion and he was adamant that I needed a laminectomy and not a fusion. I had the surgery and had instant relief that continues today.

I saw Dr. Rich for an opinion on a spine problem. After a brief consultation and reviewing an MRI, he recommended the most aggressive treatment option and indicated time urgency in proceeding. His opinion was an outlier from others I received, all of which recommended conservative treatment.

Dr. Rich seemed very caring and from my research appeared to be a competent surgeon. When I returned to see him a month after the surgery with a horrible cough, he said it had nothing to do with my surgery and he couldn't help me, I needed to see my family practitioner. Thus began the most difficult six months of my life. My vocal cord was paralyzed during the surgery and I developed severe laryngeal spasm, asthma, gastric reflux. Dr. Rich never took responsibility nor warned me about this.

Dr. Rich performed neck and back surgery on me and I could not be more pleased with the results. Also he is so personable: not your typical neurosurgeon God complex personality.
