Not trustworthy
If you enjoy a Doctor who spends your visit discussing your workplace instead of your x-ray results, then you will give Dr. Adkins a 5 star review. That's not really my style, especially when the only reason I'm asked to return over and over is because he ordered x-ray after x-ray, ultrasound after ultrasound, and CT scan after CT scan in order to keep his business going strong. Office staff is accusatory about where I schedule imaging, even though the reason I have to seek out different locations is because his go-to imaging location has broken equipment and cannot perform the required imaging. Each time you talk with Dr. Adkins, he will tell you that he found an issue with your imaging. Never mind that the previous week he told you something completely different. Sometimes he refers to the most recent imaging, other times he refers to an old imaging where the issue was supposedly corrected. Find a urologist who isn't always in a rush to get you out of the office. Not trustworthy.

I'm grateful for Dr.Adkins from my first exam that a CT SCAN In 2015 that confirmed I had several tumors in my bladder that were diagnosed as cancer. After 2 years of out patient surgery to remove the tumors, Dr Adkins recommended my bladder be removed before my tumors spread to other organs. I'm 7 years cancer free because of him. He's a straight forward doctor and tells it like it is. Thank you Dr Adkins.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!
You can't make this stuff up! BEWARE. The office is DISGUSTING! There was an IV pole left in the room with IV fluid & tubing still hanging from it, trash on the floor, the exam table was crumbled and visibly soiled, open medicine tube on the counter with a dirty chucks pad. That is just the start. When the doctor finally came in, he was degrading, rude and dismissive. I left with tears in my eyes feeling defeated and still needing answers and solutions for recurring UTIs.

Dr. Adkins is the best Urologist ever. My wife and I use him. He is very professional, thoroughly explains things to us and we never feel rushed with him. He very recently removed my prostate and my recovery was swift and complete and with minimal pain and down time. We would recommend him to anyone needing a great Urologist. His staff is easy to work with and are very polite.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Adkins. He did not take time to explain how the visit would proceed or the procedures to me and was very perfunctory in his interactions with me. This was a dehumanizing experience for me, as I felt like I was just a number to be seen.

As a first time patient, I explained to him I have an enlarged prostate, Pyronnie's Disease, and trouble urinating. He did not perform a prostate exam. He had a very terrible attitude- like I was wasting his time! All he did was give me pamphlets on Pyronnie's Disease, which I had even told him I had done a lot of research , and that my Primary Care doctor knew of these issues, who said I should see a urologist for further examination. I believe that my time and money was wasted and I should be refunded the money my insurance is going to charge me! I would not recommend Dr. Adkins to anyone, as he is the worst doctor I have ever had in my 55 years!!!

Very robotic and non communicative. If you don’t ask he will not offer any information or suggestions about your procedure. He made it seem as if radical surgery was the only option through the use of metaphors like, “we’re going to need to put a full court press on this one” and “we need to hit this with everything we got.” He never even mentioned the after effects of a prostate removal. I’m very disappointed with him.

I am a chronic kidney stone producer so Dr Adkins is one specialist that I rely on a lot. After approximately fifteen years of working with this guy I can definitely give a great recommendation. You will not find a better urologist in the area and his staff is always top notch!

No seating, only friendly person was woman @ front desk, there was a urine sample in the restroom just sitting on the rubbermade shelf, in both exam rooms trash cans were overflowing with bloody medical paper towels, pillowcases had small blood spots & though Dr Atkins was certain of what was going on “inside the blatter” he was wrong & then switched to say it was on my colon side. GRANTED, I’m not saying he is wrong, but the manner in which he said it was a bit short. No post care given.

Dr. Adkins is the best surgeon one could hope to find! He removed my prostate on Monday, I was home Tuesday. By Friday, 4 days after surgery, I feel really great! I haven’t taken any pain medication for 2 days. I continue to take it easy, drinking lots of water and some cranberry juice, and taking small walks every hour. One skilled surgeon, I highly recommend Dr. Adkins based on my personal experience.

My experience with Dr. Adkins and his staff has been outstanding, including the staff at DePaul Hospital where Dr. Adkins performed a surgery on me. He recognized my situation quickly and the urgency to get care and scheduled the care without delay. In addition to his outstanding personal effort his nurses and administrative staff have been equally responsive to my needs. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Adkins to anyone.

I have been seeing Dr. Adkins since 2007 and have never been disappointed with my treatment. On a number of occasions I've had to reach out for an emergency visit and have always been worked into the schedule. He is outstanding with his ability when it comes to making you feel that both you and your health matter. A very good feeling when seeing a Dr. of his caliber. I have the utmost confidence in his medical knowledge and his way of applying that knowledge.
