Office staff extremely unhelpful
Dr Grewe was my surgeon 7 years ago. I’m in need of a further consult and/or surgery, however his office staff…specifically Devon, will not allow me to have an appt. He incorrectly states what insurance I have, and declares they do not accept it. I offered to come to the office with my insurance cards but he said they will not see me because they do not accept my insurance. He is using an erroneous data base to determine what Medicare insurance I have. I requested an email for Dr Grewe to ask for a referral. Devon will not provide me with an email, nor will he deliver a message to Dr Grewe on my behalf.

I have surgery with him about 10 years ago. He explained things extremely well and left the decision of procedure up to me. I chose the least invasive as opposed to a fusion and it's been perfect since. He is very kind, and compassionate. I would go to him again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Grew has performed two back surgeries on me, both with very positive results. He is very though in his assessment, explains surgery options thoroughly, and is an excellent choice for complicated spinal surgery.

Dr. Grewe is an excellent surgeon. His hands are great. We have had many decades as his patient His current office staff , specifically Devon is the most rude , ineffective medical staff We have ever encountered. Dr. Grewe should realize that patients require something besides a few hours in the operating room. Sadly we have cancelled surgery withDr. Grewe .

I wasn’t allowed a visit. I had neck surgery two years ago and moved out of the area. My previous surgeon advised me to have my surgery checked each year. I am now looking for a new surgeon. I called Dr. Grewe’s office and told the guy who answered the phone my situation. He said, “Dr. Grewe is a level one trauma surgeon and doesn’t check up on other doctors’ surgeries.” This level of arrogance is shocking. At least he saved me the aggravation and money of being brushed off by a doctor. My wife worked at a hospital in surgery for 18 years and those arrogant doctors are never as good as they think they are.

Dr. Grewe is an amazing surgeon. He makes you feel that you are so important and that your well being is extremely important to him. He has a very in depth ability to express with simplicity the procedure that is needed and the expected outcome. Having had two back surgeries since February, it has been an amazing experience to have little to no pain with both surgeries. I have taken absolutely no pain medicine at all. His ability to restore your body with precision, really limits the pain. I highly recommend Dr. Grewe. Pastor Jerry Brooking-The Dalles

I just had my first appointment with this doctor, I am truly blown away! There should be more doctors like him! he was amazing and by this I mean, he took the time to explain not only my recent MRI but all the ones I had before in detail plus I could tell he was truly genuine interested about me as a person and a patient. All I can say is, I felt as if I was the only one that matter. I would highly recommend this doctor to anybody who wants a first or second opinion from a neurosurgeon!

He is an amazing Dr. I’ve had three surgeries with him and have had success with his work. Unfortunately his assistant Loraine is the worst PA I’ve ever dealt with. Her bedside manner and compassion are non existent which is so surprising since Dr Grewe is the complete opposite. If you call with questions she acts like you are putting her out and treats you like you are dumb. She has made some comments to me that were so rude I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It’s too bad since he is great.

As a long time patient of Dr Grewe I have the utmost confident in him but his office staff and assistant must be out to ruin him in which saddens me he as a doctor his excellent in my opinion and my experience is over 20 years old but in the last two years after Patty retired the whole value of patients has change to a financial issue verse a medical issue and a better quality of life issue in which Dr Grewe what's his patients to have it is very sad that his office staff has done this to him .

Dr. Grewe was amazing! We'd waiting a long time for a Dr. to work thoroughly through my husbands years of chronic Back Pain, cause of, and then for diagnostic, and possible solutions to a road towards recovery. My husband was worried it would be a "Jump" right to surgery approach, but was delighted to have a Dr. use his expertise, calm, this before that, thorough approach before anything possibly invasive. A gentleman, witty, on the spot and quite a joy for a professional physician! Visit him!

I just got off the phone from trying to make an appointment with Dr. Grewe. The receptionist was fine taking me as a new patient. When I mentioned that this was going to be a second opinion I was told that “he did not have time to do this “. I could not believe what I had just heard and had to have her repeat herself. Anyone facing spinal surgery is in pain, scared and should seek a second opinion to make sure that this is something that can not be avoided. Unbelievable!

Dr. Grewe has done three fusings(2 lumbar and 1 cervical). All very successful. He takes time to thoroughly explain and answer my questions. He is very busy, but well worth the wait. His office staff is very competent and helpful. Dr. Grewe’s PA Lorraine needs some help with answering questions and her overall communication. She makes me feel stupid when I ask questions and like I’m bothering her.

Dr. Grewe is an excellent neurosurgeon and a top Legacy trauma doc. His explanations were thorough and he took time to answer all questions. He has a reputation for being conservative with regard to procedures so I trust that he won't perform surgery unless it's really needed.

It was about 15 years ago..... I had a disk issue between c6/c7 in my neck... The pain was unbearable and I had lived with it for several months. A J& J rep I talked to in the hospital introduced me to Dr Grewe and I seen him that afternoon. He operated on me the next morning and saved my life.... If I had not seen Dr Grewe that day, I would have gone home and ended my life... This is my divine intervention story and he was key... I owe him everything,

He was understanding and called me late evening to say he could fix my back after another Dr. messed me up 3 times. He was terrific after over 11 hrs in surgery. I owe him a debt of gratitude for giving me most of my life back and keeping me out of a wheel chair. I will and have recommended him to over 6 people because he also is caring and wants to make a difference in people's lives. He also is kind.

Listened carefully to my concerns and explored my own atypical theories about my complicated symptoms, and how they related to the extensive nature of my previous injury. I believe my input was valued and studied, and we quickly came to an accord on a plan of treatment. I was given accurate and timely information about what to expect in my recovery process, and how to maximize my results. My recovery has been nothing short of a miracle.
