I had successful treatment from Dr Kitcharoen for 2 years prior to her suddenly ceasing all communication (a few months ago) and didn't show up to our last appointment. I needed medication refilled and had to scramble to find another doctor to fill it. While I hope everything with her is okay, this is terrible behavior for a mental health professional.

Just stopped answering while being treated by her
I really enjoyed working with Kitcharoen but then she just disappeared while I am being treated by her and currently taking meds that you can’t just stop all at once. I am a medical professional so I know this is unacceptable behavior to leave a vulnerable population without any notice so they are safe medically and mentally. Truly a terrible terrible way to practice medicine. I will be making a complaint because this is so dangerous to do to people when you’re a psychiatrist.

I had a pleasant experience working with Dr. Kitcharoen for six years managing my anxiety and depression until October 2023. During a medication change, however, she went AWOL and eventually stopped responding to calls and prescription requests. I was left scrambling to find a new psychiatrist while experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms after she changed my prescription and wouldn't respond to the pharmacy. I have no clue what happened to her and hope she is okay, but this behavior is damaging to the people entrusted in her care.

She completely abandoned me.
Telehealth
She completely abandoned me. We had scheduled an appointment for a week before I was leaving the country for 5 months. She sent me a message cancelling this appointment at the last minute, and that was the last I ever heard from her. I messaged and called her many times over that week and received no response. She is aware of how important my meds are to my everyday functioning -- as they treat my major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety -- and yet she completely abandoned me. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, assuming that something serious must have happened in her life, but now it has been a month and I have not heard anything from her or her office. Her behavior is completely unprofessional.

I was a client of Dr. Kitcharoen for several years. When I came to her, I was taking two medications that weren't working well, but I was really afraid to go off of them to try others. Dr. Kitcharoen understood and helped me very gradually taper off those and add two others. She chose the others based on each of them acting differently on the brain and differently from past medications that I've tried. She explained how the medications worked and what their side effects might be that I should look out for. We increased doses of each one separately. Last winter was the first winter since I was a kid that I didn't have to struggle through depression. One of the other benefits is no more insomnia, which I have had my whole life. I am *so* grateful that I found Dr. Kitcharoen and that she was willing to take me carefully through the process of switching medications. She is very knowledgeable and caring. Unfortunately, I had to find another psychiatrist when Dr. Kitcharoen moved.

I have been seeing Dr. Kitcharoen for three years. When I first saw her, I was taking medication that was only somewhat working to control my depression and not helping with anxiety or insomnia. Dr. K worked with me on trying different medications. She paid very careful attention to changes in my mood until we found the right medications. She also was very caring and knowledgeable about recent research on medications and their side effects. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. K. for her care.

Unable to get in touch with her for months at a time, has changed offices at least once a year for the 3 years I've seen her, doesn't have an accessible phone number, doesn't return pharmacy requests, doesn't provide refills, doesn't bill (still don't know what, if anything, I owe her). Overall, wildly unreliable which is exactly what people with anxiety DON'T NEED.

She is good practioner but can’t seem to do well with billing. I recently switched my insurance and I informed her about the changes. I asked her if she take other types of insurance but she never got back. She only take Blue Cross PPO. So now, I’m stuck with paying previous med bills. Her visit is $206 per hour. Good luck.

Chronically late for our morning appointments. Did not answer or return my emergency weekend page (at the number she provided) for over 48 hours. Constantly changing medication recommendation.

Dr Kitcharoen has been both efficient and effective with my treatment. She is concerned with providing as much improvement in overall quality of life as possible, using as minimal amount of medication as possible. I have felt very comfortable in her care, and have experienced significant progress. She is easy to talk with and responsive to questions, in addition to being a caring and compassionate physician.

Dr. Kitcharoen is incredibly professional and thoughtful - she's helped me more than the four other psychiatrists I've tried. She has a nuanced understanding of current literature and is more than able to explain decisions to me, and to learn how I feel about changes to medications, etc., rather than just telling me what to do. Kudos!

Very afraid of liability. Did not think she could handle me alone without being in a “team.” Dropped me while I was in the hospital which I went because of severe side effects of the new med she prescribed. Breached my info to therapist without my consent first. Hard to reach during emergencies-claimed the receptionist could lose messages. Overall a horrible experience with little trust.
