PROCEED WITH CAUTION
Dr. Schaffer's pleasant demeanor belies a lack of true compassion, as evidenced by her inconsiderate comments and woeful patient care.I had to do my own research to find treatments and therapies to help alleviate painful side effects from radiation and chemotherapy, but due to Dr. Schaffer's inaction, it was too late - long-term side effects of neuropathy and lymphedema had settled in, and continue to cause me pain and discomfort to this day.Dr. Schaffer was also slow to respond to messages and phone calls, making me wait for days and weeks on end for answers to questions about side effects and treatments - and she never apologized for any of the mistakes she made, even after I reported them to Patient Relations. This is not compassionate care.To all my fellow cancer patients, if you ever feel you are not getting the level of care you deserve, please don’t be afraid to make a change. I did, and feel much more hopeful going forward. Stay vigilant, strong, and never give up.
