I can’t say enough about Dr Cahill. I have been struggling with lower back pain for well over a year. On 1/29/21 he performed an “A lift” on my L5-S1 that basically fused me front and back. I’m now 2 months out and feel fantastic. I like most was very apprehensive about getting back surgery. Most of my fear came from the disaster of a back surgery that my father got in Wilmington, NC. One year after his back surgery he was 4” shorter and using a walker. The “surgeon” ruined his life. Dr Cahill understood why I was apprehensive and met with me as many times as it took to answer all of the questions that I had. Very patient and understanding. Also, Dr Cahill is different than most surgeons I have met in that he views surgery as a last option. He and his staff assisted me thru pain management, and physical therapy, until surgery was the only solution. Very rare these days. He even shows that same approach to my wife’s neck problems that we are dealing with now.

The very best neurosurgeon to have. I highly recommend. He is friendly and takes the time to talk to you. I had a complicated neck injury at C3 with prior fusions C4 to T1. Dr. Cahill was referred to me by my regular neurosurgeon. I felt at ease throughout the entire experience. Dr. Cahill took excellent care of me.

Dr. Cahill recently operated on my spine. He was one of many opinions that I got before deciding that he was the surgeon I would choose. His approach to helping me find a way to ‘live’ again was felt within the first minutes of meeting him. I highly recommend consulting with him before choosing your first referral. I also have to say that the team of nurses and Dr’s at Novant in Brunswick county far exceeded any hospital I’ve ever visited. Thank you Dr. Cahill!

Im 48 years old and had very bad back pain. I went to have a MRI done on Friday night and Dr Cahill operated on me Monday morning. He was recommended to me by some other people that I know. He was very informative, professional, and pleasant to work with.
