Waited 28 years to speak my mind
My experience with Dr. Halbert, after my micro-preemie son (Josiah) was born 28 years ago, was awful. The hospital in Virginia, the nurses, & 3 other neonatologists were amazing! Dr. Halbert was beyond arrogant, even hateful. Imagine telling parents that their baby, while in the NICU, was a Ward of the State. “He didn’t have to inform us or get permission from us before treating our son.” “When, and if he had time he’d let us know what had been done.”…. We worked with many doctors and specialists but never encountered any one like Dr. Kevin Halbert, before or since. Thank God! I feel sorry for the families who have had to endure his horrific god-complex while living through the stress of having a premature baby. I am grateful that the rest of the NICU staff recognized the stress he caused and created a buffer for us and other families struggling with his attitude. I hope he reads this review. I would have said this to his face if he hadn’t moved out of Virginia years ago!
