Very Disappointed
After reading so many good reviews, I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with my visit with Dr. Hines. It was not at all what I expected. I left no better off than before I went.

Excellent surgeon!! Terrific bedside manner!
He really listens to the patient. He provides thorough explanations and makes sure the patient has appropriate expectations regarding surgical results. Every visit I went to he was the same way never judge mental and very professional. His Nurse Alex worked well with Dr.Hines and she helped me out with other things that I needed to know and do. I never had a bad experience and I learned a lot about the procedure Dr. Hines was going to Surgery he was going to preform. I highly recommend Dr. Hines for his opinion, talent and knowledge!!!

Great Doctor
Dr. Hines is a great doctor who takes time to listen of concerns you have. I went through a successful surgery where no issues arise during the procedure. Each time I had a question he did not hesitate to answer. He is a doctor who is very thorough. I’ve been in recovery for almost 3 months (2weeks left) have not had any seizures since.

Office Visit
Dr. Hines took the time to explain all of the risks and benefits of my procedure. He maintained eye contact the entire visit. Alex, his nurse was also very approachable and friendly. The visit made the prospect of facing surgery less anxiety producing.

I have Parkinson's and my neurologist referred me to Dr. Hines for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). I was not sure I wanted such an invasive surgery, but after my first meeting with Dr. Hines I was convinced he was the right doctor for me. He explained the entire process during our first meeting, his easy going demeanor put me completely as ease. I made the decision after that first meeting to go forward with the surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Hines.

Review of Dr, Kevin Hines
In addition to having a completely successful surgery, I was amazed by his manner of dealing with the questions my family members and I had. Most Doctors today look at their computer while talking to their patients. Not this one. He gives his patients undivided attention. It's been a long time since I've had a Doctor do that. I strongly recommend him!

I was terrified when I was diagnosed with a spinal tumor. I made an appointment with Dr. Kevin Hines at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. He is one of the best surgeons in the country for treating spinal issues. At our first meeting he thoroughly explained what my surgery would entail and answered any questions I had. I knew by the end of the appointment that Dr. Hines was the surgeon I wanted. He is very kind and compassionate as well as being a brilliant surgeon. Dr. Hines' care continued post-operatively. He came to check on me daily until I was discharged and made sure that my rehabilitation facility was available and met my needs. His staff called me at home after I was discharged from the rehabilitation facility. I would definitely recommend contacting Dr. Hines for consultation if in a situation requiring spinal surgery.

Empathetic and highly capable
From the moment Dr. Hines stepped in to greet me, any reservations I had about his abilities and especially his ability to relate to me as an older patient were quickly swept away. He took time to carefully review my case, my previous surgeries, the detailed notes from the previous surgeon (who moved away), and my images before he came in. He made me feel as though he had always been my doctor. He was highly empathetic, kind, and interested in everything I had to say and every question I had to ask. He explained things in simple to understand language, but also treated me as an intelligent listener. My condition is not likely to go away. There is no one else I would feel more comfortable with in treating it than Dr. Hines and his terrific support staff. I hope he stays a long time.
