A Doctor's Doctor Truly Exceptional
Dr. McGuire is a master of his craft. I had a bike accident that injured my neck and left me partially paralyzed. Dr. McGuire performed emergency decompression surgery and I am happy to report 2 years later that I have 100% full function. Great skill and judgement ! I am so very grateful to have had Dr. McGuire as my surgeon. He changed my life and gave me a second chance of enjoying life !

Although I don’t have any other experience on which to base my opinion, I feel Dr. McGuire is an excellent surgeon. My condition was so severe, I was no longer able to walk or drive a car by the time I had surgery. Three months post op and I’m still participating in outpatient physical therapy to continue strengthening my various hip and leg muscles BUT I recently resumed driving and I can now walk a mile using just one crutch or a cane. Thanks to BDr. McGuires sucessful surgery, I’m optimistic I’ll continue to make progress to a full recovery that will once again enable me to walk normally and resume participating in vigorous recreation, home maintenance, and family activities that I enjoy so much. THANK YOU, Dr. McGuite !!!!

Dr. Mcguire did an exceptional job not only with my surgery, but also with my diagnosis and treatment plan. He is truthful and realistic, which I appreciate. I highly recommend him.

Bilatteral lumbar fusion surgery - Dr. McGuire
I could not be more pleased with my surgery and care from Dr. McGuire. He is the ultimate professional, a great communicator and made me feel at ease from day-one. He thoroughly explained the entire procedure, recovery time and overall expectations. I'm now 12 weeks removed from surgery, everything he told me to expect, has been exactly as he said. I am pain free for the first time in years, which is life changing. Dr. McGuire's staff, nursing and assistants are equally great. From pre-op, to post-op, to follow up visits I have always been treated with great care and compassion. I never felt I was just a number being pushed through the system. In a age where the medical profession sometimes gets bad reviews, my experience has been and continues to be, just the opposite. I would absolutely recommend Dr. McGuire to anyone.

Best Spine Surgeon in New England
After examing Medicare statistics, I found Dr. McGuire at Beth Israel in Boston, he examined me and suggested losing weight before any surgery which I did and my sciatica disappeared. Fast forward 8 years later, my pain was increasing and I was beginning to drag my right leg. I found he had moved to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in NH-he did a bilateral fusion of S1/L5 in August and I am now (November) walking 2 miles a day with minimal pain and NO foot-dragging. Always explains all the options, listens carefully, and the staff working with him (nurses & techs alike) are all awesome. I cannot recommend this MD higher than 5 stars, but he should have them.

Great listener and honest!
I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. McGuire from my first visit on. He asked lots of questions and I felt like he really listened to what I was saying. He was very honest with his answers. My surgery went very well and my husband was pleased with his explanation post op. I’d definitely go back to him in the future and would highly recommend him to others. Also, the hospital stay at Dartmouth was excellent.

Dr McGuire is outstanding. His is very professional with an excellent bedside manner. He does a very thorough job explaining the medical issues, considerations, and treatment/surgical options. He listens to patient concerns and answers questions in a manner and terminology that is easy to understand, and his follow up at post surgical checkups is also very good. I would be very comfortable recommending Dr McGuire to my friends and family (as I have already done).

Dr McGuire is amazing at what he does , and he knows how to keep you comfortable with what is going on , and also knows the system of everything else that goes along with surgery, and recovery. He's been doing this for a very long time and it shows in our meetings . I have had a tough recovery , but Dr. McGuire has been there throughout the whole process along with other members of the team. I highly recommend if you need spinal surgery in the upper valley area . Only letting Dr McGuire handle your care .

Dr. McGuire immediately recognized the severity of my situation and reassured me that he would do everything he could to make sure I received the surgery necessary to get me on the road to recovery. He possesses an excellent “bedside manner” and I knew I was in good hands moments after meeting him. Highly recommend his knowledgeable services and I’m grateful it was Dr. McGuire that performed my ACDF surgery.

I contacted Dr. McGuires office late in 2019 for a second opinion, and consultation. Upon arrival I was treated with high respect, I spoke with Dr. McGuires associates who was very knowledgable with my back issues. If this appointment had been a sales pitch I would have hired, but it was a consultation. I left there feeling very satisfied, fully informed as to what I would be going through. Unlike my appointment with a top sergon in Boston! The following weeks I met with Dr. McGuire who confirmed all I had already heard, and explained everything i would be facing, i went ahead with scheduling surgery, I am now up and living my life again. I thank he, and his entire team for all their professionalism, care, and respect for my needs. Thank you!

I came in with sciatica that left me able to walk only a block or so. I had been doing exercises and PT for many years for back pain, but this time it was no help. Dr. McGuire performed L4-L5 fusion and removed a large synovial cyst along the nerve. After 90 days I'm back to walking 2-4 miles a day like I was before this episode began. Great results from a evidence-based surgical practice. His spine center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is a friendly and welcoming place and the hospital is first-rate.
