POOR bedside manner
Dr. Khai Vu's bedside manner is some of the worst that I have seen during my grandmother's hospitalization for a potential leukemia diagnosis. His condescending attitude when our family chose comfort care over more aggressive treatments was simply disrespectful. Dr. Vu's habit of speaking down to us, refusing to let us interject or ask questions, and disregarding our input made an already difficult situation even more stressful. He attempted to sway our decision with unrealistic hope. His behavior felt more like bullying than professional medical advice, severely undermining our trust in his care. In the end, he decided the route of do-more-harm to his patient for probable fear of his own medical license. Would highly recommend picking a different doctor.

My grandparents had an appointment at 5 and were seen at 8pm. They waiting 3 hours to see the doctor which is ridiculous. They were the only ones in the waiting room and the doctor was locked in his office, not seeing his patients. We were worried why they weren’t home yet and called the doctors office to confirm if they were there or not and were close to calling 911 because we thought they went missing. Once we called, the receptionist finally said they were going to room my grandparents in the next 15 minutes. Unprofessional office. No courtesy from the doctor at all

Diagnosed with Stage IV NSC Lung Cancer with pleural metastasis in Oct 2010 with a median survival of 7.5 mo, my father's 1st oncologist suggested pleurodesis and aggressive IV chemo. She said that my dad might get an extra ~3 mo at the cost of harsh side effects. We went to Dr. Khai Vu for a second opinion. He gave oral Tarceva and said not to do the painful pleurodesis. My dad survived a comfortable 51 mo w/out surgery or pleurodesis, on oral meds only. Dr. Vu has our highest recommendation!
