Dr. Kimberly Tustison, MD

My endometrial biopsy experience was both painful and emotionally challenging. The wait time was long. The nurse who took my vitals was kind, explained the procedure and showing me the instruments, which helped calm my nerves. However, the procedure itself was incredibly difficult. Dr. Tustison, assisted by a resident, struggled to locate my cervix, which caused discomfort and anxiety. During the procedure I was tense, I was told by the doctor 'your mind imagining this to be worse than it really is.' These procedures are invasive and painful. They can feel humiliating and traumatic, despite being routine. There is an emotional and physical impact of these tests that shouldn’t be minimized. The results can alter the course of a woman’s life, and that should be treated with more sensitivity. While the nurse did offer some comfort afterward, there was no real aftercare or guidance for lingering pain. Women deserve better! What's worse is I kept apologizing for crying.

I was very disappointed in how I was treated by Dr. Tustison. I came in wanting a preconception consultation. This usually includes an in-depth in conversation with your provider on different needs for optimal health before getting pregnant. Usually the doctor orders some blood tests as well to make sure things are good. I wanted that to happen and then I wanted to schedule an appointment to remove my iud, unless she could do it right then. She asked me why I wanted to get pregnant now and why I couldn’t just wait until my iud expired to worry about it. She literally rolled her eyes at me and kept saying “at our last appointment you said you didn’t want to get pregnant yet and now you do? Why??” It was so weird, condescending, and rude. I stormed out of there very upset. My other appointments with her always centered around her urging me to lose weight, even when that was completely irrelevant to the appointment. Very uncomfortable with this doctor.

I gave birth twice two years apart and on both occasions my experience with this doctor was horrible. She’s extremely rude and doesn’t take your concerns seriously. I have heard the same comments from several other patients and nurses that have experienced Dr Tustison

Worst experience ever during my first pregnancy. I trusted this doctor to be professional and give me the best care. She didn’t seem to take my pregnancy seriously as well as doing due diligence when I told her my baby was breach at a private ultrasound. She felt my stomach and claimed he had turned just by feeling and was wrong it almost cost my baby’s life. Would NEVER recommend.

I was 1 of her patients in 2018, I chose her as my OB because I believed her. But she almost destroyed me by a big mistake. I got fever, pain, bleeding after my delivery for half month, I made an appointment with her, she said there are 3 Uterine leiomyoma in my uterus, that's the reason why i felt pain and bleeding a lot. I ask her to take them out, she said It's not time, let us waiting for 6 weeks to let your uterus return normal. I took all the medicines she told me, but still bleeding a lot, got fever and pain every second for 40 days, the pain and bleeding almost destroyed me. I went to UC San Diego Emergency, after check they told me what made me pain and bleeding was retained products of conception after delivery. Then I got a surgery 5 days later, after the surgery, pain, fever, bleeding were disappeared. The test result of the tissue from my uterus is exactly retained products of conception, not Uterine leiomyoma, This proved Tustison Kimberly made a big mistake.

Can’t say enough things about her! She’s super nice and understanding and I have a lot of issues and get emotional. Wait time was quick. Her staff was super sweet too!

I couldn’t even make an appointment with this Doctor. I waited on hold for at least a half an hour before I had to hang up!!!

She’s amazing and takes her time with every appt !

She’s the best OB I have ever had/met.

Such an amazing doctor. Answers all your questions and never rushes you. Staff was always very friendly. Completely VBAC supportive/friendly. Never once doubted my ability to have a vaginal birth. First thing she said when I bought up having a VBAC was 80-90% of women are successful and I do them all the time. While she did talk about the risks she did it in a way that wasn’t scary or trying to talk me out of my decision. Love her!! Would recommended to everyone one looking for a great OBGYN
