Dr. Krishnamurthy Shivshanker, MD

Dr. Shivshanker has been my doctor for 25 years, with great stretches of time when I didn't have problems. He's always fixed me. He is a very popular doctor (full waiting room, sometimes delays). On procedure day (upper GI) he will have 5-7 patients in queue. Personally, he's always been cordial and professionally he's batting 1000. Also, you call and they give you their first available appointment. It's not his fault that 300 people are ahead of you.

My name is Helen Huntley, I had an appointment today at 1:30 pm. I arrived at 1:15 pm and was told I didn’t have an appointment. I have an appointment card showing I had an appointment. I drive from Humble and it was very disappointing not to get to see a doctor. I have been seeing dr Shivshanker for many years and is very satisfied with the care. I will send a copy of my appointment.

Explained my problems and my history of recommended treatments. Basically told me what my GP told me years ago and put me on the same treatment, which did not work in the past. Prescribed an additional medication that costs $500 (the samples he gave me didn't help, so definitely didn't make that purchase). Didn't feel like he listened to me. Answered his texts during my consultation. Just felt very dismissed.

He did my procedure ERCP, took out stone and did stent. He was late 1 hr , when he arrived in OR. I was rushed by everybody regarding positioning and I was in pain because I have back arthritis so I was a bit slow in moving to my stomach. No greetings or apology from his tardiness. No pt education after the procedure. Had a hard time getting appointment after follow up procedure. Nurse told me I dont need a follow up but I schedule myself to see him, virtual cause he dont have any appointment slot .I got a virtual visit, I was schedule 4 pm friday by whoever I talked to. When it got to that date and time nobodys calling me after 20 min past so I called and the answering service told me they are already closed at 330 pm on Fridays.This is why Im going to onother gastroenterologist. Its not worth it , instead of me healing I have anxiety , high blood pressure because of all these.

Yes, very pleased with my procedures by Dr Shivshanker and the treatments. Very good manners and so willing to help me, long distance.

Dr. Shivshanker is a great doctor. He saved my life when I was seriously ill in 2014.

Dr. K. Shivshanker is a very caring doctor. He is always willing to listen to his patients and was very attentive to my needs. The medications he prescribed for my stomach issues, has helped a great deal. I highly recommend him for gastrointestinal pain and problems. I am particularly grateful to Ms. Iram, head staff at the clinic. She has my highest commendation, for being very helpful and friendly to all the patients.

I had 2 colonoscopies with Shivshanker and both were terrible, it was a terrible experience, I wasn't seddated completely. I hope no one ever goes thru this trauma, I afraid to get another colonoscopy from other doctors now, as these were very super painful.

Never ask for lab reports or results from the front office of Dr. ShivShankar? you will get a run around so very many ways times it matters each time who at the front office picks up the phone & tells you what? one will take a fax# & never fax & other will tell you we r never allowed to fax lab results? SO VERY AWFULLLLL service by this doctor's office.

This Doctor was not my doctor but he was the one who did my procedure. He first tried to pawn my procedure off on someone else but because he couldn't he made me wait 2 hours for him to come to the hospital. He did not discuss anything with me prior to the start of the procedure and did not make any reference in his procedural notes mentioning the main issue that the procedure was scheduled for.

Dr. Shivshanker is a great doctor - but does not care in the least how long his patients are waiting for their appointment. Today's appointment was a morning appointment, after waiting 45 minutes we were told we were next, then 15 minutes later we were brought back for intake only. When we inquired on how much longer to see the doctor the tech refused to answer any questions. We have waited 2 hours before, 1 hour before and today was another hour. Morning appointments don't matter either. We will not be back.

Dr. Shiv is a very caring doctor. He is willing to listen to me as a patient and assists me with my medical needs. Very approachable, which makes me feel positive of the decisions regarding my health. I am always at easy when I enter his office. The staff is very nice.

Very long wait time, overbooked during appointment time. Office not responding on labs or issues with pain post op. I like the doctors bedside manner however not enough time spent covering what is needed or care. Office staff should work on customer centric attitude rather then making up excuses for why things aren't getting done. Very expensive Rx's prescribed as well. Honestly if he was not so overbooked and the staff weren't so stressed it would be a much better review.

Dr. Shivshanker is one of the most professional physicians I’ve met. He's a great listener, asks the right questions, and is genuinely concerned about my well-being. The receptionists are friendly, they help you with a good attitude. I'm suffering from bad acid reflux and thanks to him, he keeps it under control with the right medication. Dr. Sivshanker is a good doctor when you can finally see him. I am leaving his practice and leaving a poor review because his front office staff has no personality. When you finally get an appointment, his office waiting area looks like Ben Taub Hospital because it's so many people waiting. The typical wait time to see him WITH an appointment can be 2 - 3 hours and this is not an exaggeration! My time is too valuable to sit an wait this long EVERY time I have an appointment.

Very poor experience. Waited 45 mins to see him for 15 minutes. He took TWO phone calls on his cell while in the examination room with me. Then prescribed pills that cost over $500/month with insurance, insisted payment in advance for a procedure scheduled 3 months later, and gave me a drug discount coupon that had expired TWO YEARS before. I cancelled the procedure, got my refund and never went back.

He is a good doctor. But no really happy with some of the staff. My insurance is never verified when I go in and they always charge me more than they are suppose to.. And some times even bill old insurance that I have not had for 5 or more years ago. If they would improve on some of these things they would score a 100 in my book. But overall I would give him as a provider 100% and staff 80%..

He is very good to tell all questions I am very satisfied with him

Dr Shivshanker has provided excellent care not only for myself, but for multiple family members. He is one of the smartest doctors that I know! He is honest and trustworthy!!!
