Felt visit was incomplete, felt need to apologize
I wish that my experience was as glowing as the recommendations that made me choose her. Unfortunately I found her to be not comforting or caring but rather defensive, condescending & insensitive. I realize she may be highly skilled, but empathy & compassion for their patients is a necessary quality for me in a Doctor. Especially when a patient is visibly upset, in pain & seeking some comfort. I see that other reviews mention those things (again, a big reason that I chose her) I have symptoms of Diverticulitis & had my colon perforate previously. With that history, I left her office with no plans to investigate what may be a current episode. I was literally in tears with a chronic painful fissure & had concerns. I researched & told her my fears & she responded as if being challenged instead of comforting me. I have comorbidity issues that overlap as well. I am waiting to be scheduled for a procedure but feel as if she doesn’t want me as her patient. Something I never felt b4

A plus for Dr Donohue
My visit was very positive, time sensitive and very informative! Dr Donohue takes the time to explain and review my current and past surgical process and how my healing process is progressing! She also took the time to ask how my thanksgiving was and spoke about some personal family experiences!

She’s the best doctor I’ve ever dealt
Unfortunately I’ve had a bunch of diverticulitis flare ups but the one 6 weeks ago landed me in Robert Wood Johnson for a few nights. While I was there I was told to look into a surgical procedure by the surgeon at RWJ and was told about Dr. Donohue. One of the residents with the surgeon took the time to tell me Dr. Donohue was her favorite doctor to work with, she was amazing. When I was released from the ER I made an appt, I’m not the best waiter so I did call a few times to lock in a meeting, my wife and I met Dr. Donohue, she was fantastic, answered all our questions and I just had a comfort and calm feeling about her and the procedure. The procedure went great, just had my 2 week follow up and I feel amazing. I’m not one to do online reviews but I just want everyone looking for a colon specialist to know they shouldn’t look anywhere else, Dr. Donohue is the best!!!JC

Fantastic Caring Physician
I had to have an emergency Colostomy that was going to be temporary. When it was time to have the Colostomy reversed my original acute surgical team referred me to Dr. Donahue. I was so thankful they referred me to Dr. Donahue. I found her to be very caring, easy to talk to, very willing to answer all my questions with regard to the surgery and what I would face going forward. She performed a robot assisted laparoscopic Colostomy reversal surgery that went extremely well. Her support staff were great keeping me appraised of what needed to be done as far as pre admission testing and also follow up after the surgery. I was fortunate enough to be discharged they day after the surgery. All in all, I would highly recommend Dr. Donahue.
