She is Amazing
This doctor is amazing. She literally saved my daughter's life by making a split second decision to operate within seconds upon arrival. We spent 22 years with a very healthy daughter who suddenly began seizures due to a brain abscess. Dr. Riley and the Amazing Team at UAB literally changed my daughters life forever. Dr. Riley knows exactly what she is talking about and easily puts the family at ease knowing she is taking care of your loved ones. I cannot say enough about her and the amazing teams at UAB.

Unsympathetic and Uncaring. Assumes all of her surgical patients are drug seeking, addicts. It wasn't my choice to have epilepsy. I should have passed on the surgery. I wanted to be seizure free but no one explained how painful the surgery would be and Dr. Riley didn't tell me that she "doesn't try to control pain after surgery care". Imagine having someone cut into your skull, remove part of it and part of your brain, glue your skull back on and then staple it. What's left of your brain swells and headaches for weeks afterwards. There was very little to no pain control. She acted as if she didn't believe I was in pain and then begun to act as if I was a drug seeking patient. If I had known how she felt about no pain control prior to surgery I wouldn't have had it. I'm done with UAB and their doctors. Opiod crisis is not patients fault and what she did was cruel and unnecessary. Oath to do no harm should apply to pain and suffering as well.

Dr Kristen Riley MD was excellent with my son Tyler when he had cranioplasty surgery. She tried her best to respect his wishes during his surgery and recovery. She did an excellent job explaining every thing up front before the surgery also. I was very impressed with her!!!
